Really wasn't including anyone If I can work a Texas Rig or Jig-n-Craw or any "weedless" lure through heavy cover during daylight why would that change at night. Yes accuracy can diminish at night but it's something you adapt to. Some people's night vision isn't sharp enough & they will struggle.- Night fishing
Darkness covers up an angler's presence & most of all his mistakes. Fish the same baits, same locations, and same techniques you would during the day. As mentioned above night fishing isn't for everyone, I've seen some really good boat captains get completely turned around at night.- Night fishing
What are y'all afraid of? Avoiding cover! Really! If you’re afraid of getting hung up ya might wanna consider golf. Heck I get hung up in broad daylight!- Night fishing
New Moon: Offshore Full Moon: Shoreline- Night fishing
Some people have better night vision than others. The issues that will arise are, lowered depth perception, shadows cause major issues, any lights along the shoreline (they're good fishing around) hurt night vision. To answer your question, you adjust When I night fish it's usually on Toledo Bend where I can a mile offshore away from any lights. I'm fishing structure which doesn't require me being that accurate.- 20lb for football jigs?
Toledo Bend Bass Report The water temperatures leveled out in the upper 60's this past week and should be cooling down to the low 60's with the cold rain we are receiving today. The lake did turnover again last weekend but that should all be behind us now allowing the fish to start setting up right. We are beginning our seasonal move towards the south end of the lake as my experience is that the colder the water, the farther south I fish. We found plenty of fish this week in drains, points, and ledges but the morning bite was off. Most days we struggled to get groups to fire up until after noon. Yesterday was no different as we caught 3-5 fish out of 3 different groups in the morning but after 2pm we found a group that bit every cast. One group we found early must of had 25 bass between 4-7lbs in it but we only got a few bites out of them. We caught fish on a Carolina rigged fluke, an Alabama rig, a jigging spoon, and a dropshot. The bigger fish fell for the Carolina rig and the dropshot and spoon caught most of our numbers. We ended the day with well over 50 bass. I'm expecting over the next month for most days to be pretty similar. Starting in mid November the afternoons are usually better than the mornings. It can be slow to start, but our days will finish strong. 30-50 fish should be a typical day over the next month with a few of those special 75-100 fish days mixed in. If you've ever wondered when the best time to fish Toledo Bend is, it is right now. The fall/early winter bite is as good as it gets. Call or message to get in on the action. It's a great time to learn to use your electronics to find fish, build confidence in offshore fishing, and to just flat out have fun catching fish.- Refreshing some soft plastic baits?

6-Mile 😉- Is it better?
My point is everyone has a particular topwater, mid-depth, & bottom contact that they start with because they have years of experience with them. My favorite way to fish is deep offshore structures. My strengths are Texas Rigs & Jig-n-Craws but can guarantee y'all if those ain't working I will throw a deep diving crankbait, Carolina Rig, Swimbait or what ever. I'm the kind of angler that believes, ^ by whatever means necessary". Tournament guys do the same.- Is it better?
👍 Tom when you wanted to put Nadine in the boat what do you throw?- Spinnerbaits for Clear Water
@A-Jay We call it "waking" a spinnerbait Deep water structure & a big ol spinnerbug!- Is it better?
I've known a few Pros in my day, couple have won the Classic. They all have techniques & lures in topwater, mid-depth, & bottom contact. These are their strengths, when pre-fishing they look for areas that fit those. This is where they start, may not be where they finish. Anglers often respond to failure and frustration by over-complicating theory and technique.- Is it better?
Larry Nixon is known as Mr Versitility, not for his ability to fish every technique available. His versitility was in his ability to quickly read changes in conditions, adjust to those changes, & still throw his beloved worm. Does that mean he's not good with other techniques? Absolutely not!- Razors
Y'all really want a smooth, clean, close shave? Stop using shaving "soaps" & start using hair conditioners. I shave before getting in the shower & apply conditioner to where I want to shave, my beard & what's left to the hair on my head. Suave conditioner is like $2.00- Is it better?
I work with a lot of young anglers (experientially), here's where they struggle most. Understanding what structure is, how to truly identify it, interpret it, and then fish it effectively. Understanding what the predominate prey species are in their lake & how those species relates to structure with each passing season...morning, noon, and night. They're all to busy chasing lures, techniques, lines, reels, or rods. - That's funny right there!
