  1. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak!
  2. Heavy jig in cold water, who would have thought. @Glenn got some connections
  3. Now y'all know Ol Catt is going to look at it differently. My favorite time to fish docks is at night. Especially docks with lights, lights down here most likely means Crappie fishermen. That means sunken brush piles. But I'm still throwing a Jig-n-Craw, just starting farther from the dock.
  4. I recently started throwing Zoom's Magnum Finesse Worm & Magnum Trick Worm, both Wacky Rigged & Weightless Texas Rigged with good success.
  5. Jig-n-Craw 😉
  6. Been told where they were going to put that "shoe"!
  7. With all the holiday sales one could put together a quality combo for $200+/-
  8. 6th Sense Movement 80X Movement L7 square Bill Cloud Series
  9. My opinion would be to purchase a quality reel first. When properly maintained a quality reel should last many years. A quality rod is subject to break day one. Once you have a quality reel with a decent rod all money budgeted going forward will upgrade rods.
  10. Why? Lots of anglers follow this theory & I don't understand why.
  11. I throw Mustad Straight Shank Round Bend Hooks except for Senkos, Flukes, Horny Toads & Ribbits.
  12. 👍
  13. I'm 72 years old, I got one that was my dad's which would put it somewhere between 80 & 100 yrs old. I also have his Disston hand saws, the wooden handles are fine.
  14. Nah! Maybe Creatures & craws early in the season. Lizards as pre-spawn approaches Hogwalla 😉
  15. Two or three fingers touching the rod.
  16. During cold water periods I go the opposite direction. Larger profile & heavier weights. I will go a heavy as 3/4 oz. Bass will still chase food just not very far.
  17. Nope Nope Nope When my hookup ratio goes down I look in the mirror.
  18. Nah! Nail gun 😉
  19. I would think the 6'10" is close but I've never handled one. All 3 are rated 1/4-1 oz & my Powell is 1/4-3/4 oz. Whatever that means!
  20. @Boomstick I have a 7'3" Tatula TTU731MHFB that I've thrown frog with it. I also use it punching medium cover.
  21. @ol'crickety Genetics first & then a healthy ecosystem. ShareLunker genetic data shows 4 or 5 generation of double digit bass.
