Super Fluke in Winter to Pre-Spawn ?
Bass would highly disagree with that. My choice would be an M-Pack Shad 7" or a Lake Fork Tackle Live Magic Shad 5.5". It says they're soft plastic Jerkbaits, fish em like one.

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
Depends on what part of the lake. 170 - 171 would be fine if SRA keeps it stable. Lot of guys like it 172 or higher, I don't.

Pattern Fishing
Recent & past radio telemetry studies on Fork, Rayburn, & Toledo Bend show some bass actually seldom move, others roam within 100 yds of their "home", while others moved plum out of radio range & then return weeks later. One study by Todd Driscoll tracked an 8# bass that was located on a single stump on a huge flat with no immediate structural changes. The nearest substantial depth change was 100-150 yds aways. She only moved during spawn & returned.

Pattern Fishing
Ran out of likes a long time ago! The problem with patterns is about the time you think you have them figured out you don't.

Pattern Fishing
Geez y'all make it hard to answer. Patterns definitely exist That's not to say "all" bass are doing the same thing at the same time. There's is however a substantial percentage that do. Depending on the size of the body of water there can in fact be multiple patterns. Bass being mobile or stationary. Again depending on the body there is a portion of the population that stays within 30 yds of the bank. There's a portion of the population that never see a bank their entire life. And then there's a portion of the population that moves between the two.

Cocked, Locked, & Ready to Rock!- Where did the old timers go?
Roger @RoLo @Matt Fly @Long Mike @Paul Roberts @Brian_Reeves fourbizz @George Welcome Jack @fishfordollars Yates RIP! And of course 🤣- So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
Gotta get water up in the brush!- So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
@A5BLASTER y'all getting a lot of rain?- How do you differ and why?
Everyone has their own personal repertoire of confusion! Some call it ol school, I say if it ain't broke why ya trying to fix it? I fish a Texas Rig ol school, unpegged weight, straight shank hooks, & Berkley Big Game. I cast out let settle on the bottom & short stroke it back to the boat, pausing along the way. I fish a Jig-n-Craw the same way! I don't specifically target wood or grass, I target structure, & fish the available cover. Had an old guide on Toledo Bend tell me for every bass you catch on the bank, there's 5 behind you waiting to be caught. Early morning bite? I night fish 😉- Trolling for bass
Sure glad I don't tournament fish no more! I can do what I want 😉- Predict your 2024 biggest bass
- Trolling for bass
You're correct but billfish are not the only species trolled for.- Trolling for bass
I have been known to drag a spoonplug behind a boat!- Trolling for bass
Having came from a saltwater background where trolling is quite popular. There's a lot more to it than just dragging a lure along a random path. During the 70s Toledo Bend was known as the MudBug capital of the world. They weren't talking crawfish! Arbogast MudBug & Heddon Hellbender were the most used.- Who here fishes from the bank?
- What was you're best lure and set up last year?
Fishing a lot of tidal waters, the salinity levels are extremely high, & the bass were feeding on grass shrimp. @bulldog1935 spinnerbait 😉- Jigs: rattles vs no rattles
The noise a Rat-L-Trap makes is far beyond the noise of a simple jig rattle. Many think rattles in a jig is like the noise a crawfish make. Yes crawfish make a "clicking" noise but the vast majority of the time crawfish are really quite.- What was you're best lure and set up last year?
Johnson Beetle Spin 1/4 oz, white with the tails dipped in Spike-It Dip-N-Glo Chartreuse Garlic. Powell Inferno 703C 7' Medium Heavy X-Fast. Lew's Tournament Lite TLT1SH 7.5:1, spooled with Berkley Big Game 15#.- Do you use inline spinners for bass?
@Munkin I preferred that chunk over the "standard" #11 even on jigs. Uncle Josh also made one with a single tail that was killer on Johnson Spoons or a Snagless Sally.- Do you use inline spinners for bass?
@RipzLipz The Snagless Sally comes the grass better which is where I use Sally. I wish Uncle Josh still made these, since they don't i use Zoom's plastic version. I prefer white or solid chartreuse. - The best place to start is at the beginning,
