Three ruptured disc's, torn ligaments, arthritis, bursitis, the list goes on. Since 2008 my body refuses to allow me to lay down for more than 3-4 hours. Sitting is 2-2 1/2 hours, standing or walking ain't much better. I'm constantly going from standing to seating to laying down. I have no say so in the matter, I do what my body allows me to do. Now I will sneak in a nap 😴
  3. I have recently received text messages & personal messages stating how they couldn't believe I posted on my Toledo Bend trend that I only caught 1 bass last week & Tuesday I was skunked. Why yeah 😉 Why would I not? We learn more in the valleys than we do on the mountaintops!
  4. Carolann has been my sweetheart for 64 years, We don't wait for February 14th to tell each other!
  5. That color for me only attracts Bream bites, I obtribute that to the tail. Another "new" worm for 2024 is Mr Twister’s Mag Buzz Worm 8".
  6. Bass fishing...never! Tournament fishing...yes! I got burnt out on fighting freezing temperatures. fluctuating barometric pressure, rains, high winds, triple digit heat, & so on. I've recently been helping a couple friends who are high school fishing team captains, still don't miss it. Now I try to pick & choose my days.
  7. Use to 😉
  8. Oddly enough nothing was remotely near laydowns. Just a wild guess but afternoon seam better but I can't say for sure since we're leaving before 4°clock.
  9. All 6 were in brush or on cypress trees, all were little females. Saw lots of shad balls everywhere in deeper water, some had bass below but none would bite. Calvin throw a 8" Megabass Magdraft Swimbait, nothing not even follower.
  10. I went with my friend Calvin who is a boat captain for a local high school fishing team. The goal was to refresh his memory of San Miguel boat lanes, the fog greatly reduced that time. Actually Calvin & my grandson Aiden caught all the fish. I was busy practicing casting. Yes I got skunked but in my defense Aiden took my spinnerbait!
  11. @A5BLASTER My plan before I left was to launch at San Miguel State Park & run to the back but those plans were killed by the fog. San Miguel boat lane are anything but straight.
  12. Second trip in a row with post frontal conditions. Arrived at San Miguel State Park only to find out it was closed. Went & found a near by lanch. It was extremely foggy, we couldn't see 1/2 way across San Miguel. Water conditions midway of San Miguel. Temperatures low to mid 50s, clarity 1 1/2 to 2 ft visibly. Lures = bass Ol' Monster Plum = 1 Baby Brush Hog Plum = 1 Unknown Chatterbait White = 1 Humdinger Colorado Silver, Willowleaf Gold, Blue, Chartreuse & White 1/4 oz = 3 All were keepers but released, kicker 3#.

  18. Berkley Big Game 15# on all three & been done with it. I use Big Game for everything but frogging & punching.
  19. I use old school Berkley Spooling Station. Simple & efficient Like @Delaware Valley Tackle mentioned, make sure your spool is centered properly. I don't adjust anything on my reel. If you notice the two spring loaded set screws that hold the spool in place. Collapse both completely, this adds tension to your line. I add additional pressure by pinching the line between my fingers. If I see the line starting to build more on one side I simply hold my finger on the opposite side, forcing the line to adjust. If it's still a little off, 3-4 long cast eliminates that.
  20. 6th Sense...he done 😉
  21. @A5BLASTER Ya ain't throwing that Ribbit yet?
  22. Sending prayers 🙏
