IMO....... i love the fight....so set it light.....just enough to set the hook.... if a dink rips drag you've got a problem.... when the 5lb'er can make a run, you've got it just right lots will disagree, i know..... but i love to have fun, and fun to me is hearing my drag go ZZZZZZIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!! (thats also one of the reasons i cant stand a BC, i love the drag sound on a spinner!!!!!)

ya, i cant wait...... im putting together my "big fish arsenal"..... my PB is 10lb 3ounce, and thats a great fish any day of the week, but im on the hunt for something larger. ive found the perfect body of water that i know is holding the grandma of my dreams, and these will be the right tools for the job!!!!! hopefully ill be able to show her off in a few pics..................cause im hunting her down now 8-)

i use suffix braid 40#...... i love the stuff, and really cant think of any complaints i could make for it....... thats my vote!!!

well the day was mighty slow..... i think my buddy and i landed about 4 bass between the two of us, so we were itching for something to tug the line........ thats when we resorted to the old snag fishing for these ugly creatures.... its a puccostumas (i have no idea how to spell it) i believe...their just the common algae eaters....man their gross looking, but they put up a decent fight when they get to this size i suppose..... thats my pal in the pic, and it was the first one he had seen out of the water (as you can tell from his expression)

tearin'em up... as in "we were tearin'em up today....) thats about how it goes for me.... and the off days..... those are known as the old goose egg. (i hate those days)

Well my TW order got a little out of hand last night...... but i guess thats a good thing...... The monkey and my GF teamed up to get me one great mess of tackle for my upcoming anniversary..... here's how it went down. 1. Mattlure hardgill (male bluegill) floater 1. Mattlure hardgill (red ear sunfish) floater (i had to go with both ) 1. Spro BBZ 1 (blue herring) floater 1. Spro BBZ 1 (dirty shad) slow sink 1. ABT Titan 8" (mid shad)...... (same as strike king "king kong") 1. pack of rage toads (green pumpkin) 1. Bettencourt rodent swimming rat 5" 1. Plano flipsider tackle bag and some wide gap hooks for the toads..... ........the waiting is the worst part..... i cant wait to put those mattlures in the water

good story.......and quite interesting situation to be in all around, i imagine...... bad news for the lunker though :-/

well.......thanx to all..... MALE BLUEGILL it is........... i cant wait... gonna put the order in tomorrow night(1 day ahead of schedule)...... now the agony of anticipation begins....

well said..... plus the baits talk for themselves......(WOW) i will say it once again.....mattlures hardgill is my only choice in swimbaits, but i need help on the color selection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i just saw the mattlures site....... there are more varieties by far..... but im still torn on the original two :-/

-ebby- good tip......i was looking at TW.... i didnt know that there were more varieties directly from mattlures... i might have more of a problem now..... (but the mattlures hard gill is my only choice in hard swimbaits, by far..)

ive seen both in my "main" fishing spot..... but bluegill seem to be more common for the all around....although my other spots have good populations of sunfish, so...... its a hard choice.......their sooooooooo perfect..... i wish i had money for both!!!!

i made the switch to braid a short while ago myself (suffix)... it took some time to get used to, ie. the no give part..... its my only choice now.....but i still cant bash the mono....it never did me wrong in the past. (ps.......we still need to plan the secret spot swap trips )
