  1. i had a tournament this past weekend at lake norman and the flw tour had a tournament at the same time...we talked to several of them on the water and alot of them were really great guys.. i dont know them by name but the pro in the national guard boat and the pro in the iams boat are really cool...they both talked to us for a min or two..asked if we were doin any good so on and so forth...on sunday which would have been the final day of their tx i guess...we were in a pocket fishing for a male that was prob 2 1/2 lb on the bed...the guy in the kellogs boat came back in to the pocket we were fishing and fished until he was a couple of docks away..my partner finally caught the bass we were on...about that time the pro started his motor and started pulling off...i turned around to wave at the guy and he just shook his head...like we were doing something wrong...I don't understand??? we where there before he ever even came in the pocket...he was fishing beds as well.. does he think just because hes fishing for more money that his fishing takes priority over ours and we should leave???what a jerk...and the flw weights were not impressive at all...if we had been fishing their tx we we would have made the cut to the top ten....kinda funny considering thats a lake neither of us has ever been on...sorry bout the ranting i just had to get that out lol...
  2. heading to norman tommorow morning...any last minute tips would be awesome...thanks..
  3. if those guys act stupid and laugh at you or whatever...just tell them that they probably arent laughing when they make a 500 dollar boat payment every month.
  4. i dont use them unless its in the spring...if i think the bass might be on the bed... i look at the moon phase...if its a full moon, the water is over 55 and its spring of the year there will be fish shallow, 10 ft of water or less..a couple weeks ago i fished a tourney at smith mtn lake and the water was in the upper 50s and it was the day after the full moon..the bass where really shallow..i found a couple on the bed also
  5. i know this is off topic...but if you guys have not read ikes book...get it and read it...its a really good read..he shares some of the stuff/dirt that happens on the pro tour you woudnt expect...it lets you know these guys are just like us...they just get to fish for a living...great book!!
  6. i have one...dont like it much.... i have two shimano crucial dropshot rods....way better rods in my opinion...the carrot stick feels like a piece of plastic to me for some reason...idk..hope ya like it!!
  7. You're talking about The Bass Shop. One of the finest local tackle shops you will find. I too like the flick shake. I've done fairly well with them focusing on docks so far this year. yep thats the place...one of the most complete smaller tackle shops i have been in...i would rather go their than bass pro because they have all the hard to get/ hard to find stuff...they even have the bass trix swim baits...great place!! going to norman this weekend....ima give them a shot down there...and about the drop shot idea...thats mainly why i bought them but wanted to try the jigheads... thanks for the tips!!
  8. they are def overpriced....5 bucks for 8 worms...haha....the jig heads are rediculous too...just wanted to try them...im sure there are some cheaper alternatives...if anyone know of any let us know
  9. baitcast 2-revo stx 1-revo s 1-pfluger asaro 1-shimano chronarch mg 1- shimano citaca d 1- quantum accurist pt 1- diawa fuego and a bunch old ones i dont use spinning 3- shimano stradic 2500s 1- shimano stella.... haha to cheap to buy more than one 1- diawa sol
  10. was just wondering if anyone has done any good with the jackall flick shake worm and the wacky rig jig heads....i found a cool tackle shop the other day in abington that had em and picked some up to try...any tips would be awesome...
  11. i didnt say bass are different....i said bass fishing is different...fishing pressure has multiplied by thousands....more people fishing tournaments....
  12. i was not talkin bout catfish...i was talkin about bass..im sure he could destroy me when it comes to catfishing...im just saying...bass fishing is alot different now than it was when he was winning tournaments....hey if you wanna make some bets or whatever....this is a big sight..if u can set it up with bill...i will fish him anytime for bass...has to be public water though... (and yes i know that will never happen lol) be nice if it would though... as for how many boats have i won...well i havent won any...havent fished for any...a good friend of mine has won several boats he also won the fed nation national championship a few years ago...must be nice huh lol..maybe one day i will have the chance to fish for a boat.. :-[
  13. Team Pampers has spoken... What could anyone hope to learn for those old farts in the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame? : lol team pampers ;D ....hey i would let them wrap my boat if they sponsered me haha .... bill dance is a good fisherman....i dont wanna sound cocky... but i bet i could smoke him on a public lake or in a tourney.... haha bet ima get hammered for that one.. but thats just my honest opinion
  14. good idea..but i agree...steering wheel seems a bit out of place........im still waiting to see a hybrid outboard lol...one that can get an 18 foot boat over 50 mph lol
  15. you dont have to keep plastic in a jar, plastic does not dry up on your hook if you leave it layin out, pork trailors are only available in a few shapes, sizes and colors, plastics are available in hundreds of shapes, sizes and colors...plastics are cheaper... plastics are alot cleaner and easier to deal with...pork is better in some situations i suppose, but i have never found myself in a situation that i only had plastic and was wishing i had some pork... just my opinion though...by all means if you catch bass on it and you dont mind the hassel...use it..
  16. does anyone else feel that everytime you read an article in bass that they are just trying to sell you somthing... gotta love the articles in the first few pages of bass times that berkley obviously pays for...all the pros favorite baits at whatever time of year are berkley this or berkley that..yes i like alot of berkley stuff too but they could try and make it a little less obvious...
  17. what is there to really learn from bill dance these days anyway...yeh he explains what hes doing...but like mentioned above...he fishes private locations...most of that info is usless to most bass fisherman..watch bassmasters...they are just recorded tournaments...i dont think someone fishing for 100 grand is gonna take the chance of loosing a fish so he can land it in front of the camera...
  18. i was curious if anyone has tried the berkley saltwater baits for bass...there are alot of good looking swimbait type lures, and jerk shads made by berkley for saltwater that i think would be attractive to bass. The scent of the salt water baits are a bit different than the scent of the freshwater baits. i was just wondering if this had any kind of negative affect on bass, and if anyone has tried them with success while bass fishing.
  19. does anyone know what perry caught the fish on?? just curious 8-)
  20. i like aaron martens because his fishing style is alot like my own...mathew sphar is a really nice guy too...he might not always be in the top ten but i have talked to him a few times and he seems like a great guy... and like everyone else....gotta love kvd and ike.. dave fritts is a cool guy too and can catchem on a crank bait like no other
  21. for prespawn i like a 1/4 white spro bucktail with a bass proshops hand poured dropshot minnow for a trailor...works good when they wont hit a jerkbait or a crankbait in 45-55 degree water...
  22. start out with small jigs..1/4 ounce or 1/8 ounce with zoom chunks the jrs... cant go wrong with green pumpkin or penut butter and jelley same for the trailors....using the small ones will get u more bites and you will be able to learn how they feel when they hit them...net bait and berkley make good chunks too...just use what looks good to you...as for jigs i like booyah and hotshot...but the brands will vary depending on the takle shop you are at...we have alot of local guys that make jigs and they usually have a good idea of what works...so try the ones from you local companies..just make sure they have a good hook in them..
  23. Yes, but you aren't sponsored by Nitro and you also aren't fishing for large sums of money. um yeah...thats why i said they are living our dream....most i ever fish for is a new ranger once a year...other than that its club and fed tourneys and a few team trails with a first place prize of 2000...i dont get what point you are trying to make.... :
  24. back up boat....lol....bass fishing is starting to sound like nascar....wow those guys reallly have it made...they get to fish the best lakes in country out of the best boats and all their rods, reels, tackle...ect are free...they are really living our dream...if my boat had engine trouble at a tourney i would be finishing it with the trolling motor lol...
