  1. while we are on the injury subject...why do big bass like the one in your pics eyes pop out like that?? i have caught a few smallmouth in the 5lb range with eyes like that and have caught one largemouth that weighed 7 1/2 lb with eyes like that..what causes this??
  2. tons of good jerkbaits out there...if you dont mind spending the money the lc pointers are worth it
  3. X2 Great post! I have never seen anybody on this forum who uses high end baits berate somebody who doesn't. Its always the opposite, people who hate high end lures criticize those who use them when they haven't even tried them. I can never understand people who give their opinions about things they don't have any experience with. I guarantee that 95% of these people would have different opinions if they actually tried a high-end lure. well said!!!
  4. i have heard that the fish with extensive tail damage is started by the spawn and gets worse from infection..
  5. those pics practically have me drooling...eehhhh eeehhh....thats awesome man! can you take your own boat or do you have to use theirs??
  6. i think the flat spot is supposed to make the worm glide eratically as its falling rather than falling straight down
  7. bass fishing is my main hobby, i used to hunt but i just dont have the heart to kill anything anymore...i know this doesnt sound like a hobby but i really enjoy college...I had a writing class last semester and it kinda got me into writing; i like photography also...im a cannon man... like the digital but i am thinking about going back to film...the film pics seem to have more depth...and i can scan the negatives and do anything with them i can do with digital..
  8. Just wanted to share this with you guys. A good alternative for swimbaits is the Scrounger head with a fluke on it. A friend introduced these to me and they have been very productive...these have a great action with a fluke on them.. Give em a try, you wont be dissapointed ... im sure they will work well with other baits on them also...anyone know of some other productive baits to use on them? here is a link to their site http://www.thescrounger.com
  9. anyone ever use these on a jighead?
  10. keeping the rod tip down helps too...if i think a fish is gonna jump...sometimes i put the rod down in the water...
  11. i dont use them unless the water is muddy or i am fishing at night...they work great in both conditions...when fishing them in muddy water us a slow retrieve and get the bait right next to the cover...for muddy water i like white/chartreuse with a chartreuse trailor...i like black or white at night...
  12. x2 do those smell like garlic?
  13. i like smokin shad, baby bass, baitfish, and white...i also use a round bend...for some reason i tend to have hook-up problems with the ewg...i think maybe its because the hook point is in line with the eye...not sure but i get a better catch ratio with the round bend
  14. i like the terminator spinner baits...in the natural colors...the white/shad color works well...what blade combos are you using? booyah has a good selection of color and blade combos also...white will cover most conditions...if you dont have wind and the water is clear you are probably better off using something else...
  15. if you just had one weight to use for everything...i would say 1/4 oz would probably be the most versatile...good at most depths
  16. if the worm doesnt have a flat bottom, hook it on the the mold line...this will center your hook for the best action
  17. robo worm on a dropshot rig
  18. are you fishing from the bank or off of a boat?
  19. i think he was the flw angler of the year last year or maybe it was 07..not sure..but hes still big
  20. i dont pay for a name...i pay for what works...you show me a 5$ lure that is the same as a lucky craft and i will buy 100 of em...i dont care about the name...i care about what works...paying 15 bucks for a lure isnt gonna hurt my wallet...especially not if it wins me a few hundred.. cut a pointer 78 in half and cut the janns springer 78 in half and tell me if you still think its the same bait...
  21. for me it would be a toss up between a worm bite and a jerkbait bite...nothing like jerking a pointer and having a big smally slam it and nearly pull the rod from your hands...
  22. the spro frogs are awesome as stated above...The new panther martin frogs look awesome!! has anyone tried them yet??
  23. willow - more flash, less vibration colorado- less flash, more vibration gold- cloudy, low light silver- sunny i usually dont throw a spinnerbait unless it is windy or the water is stained or murky...if the water is clear and its windy i like to fish it fast with natural colors and willow blades or a tandem with the willow being the larger of the two...if the water is muddy i like colorado blades and a white skirt with a chartreuse trailor.. check out different types of trailors..they can totally change the look of the bait... some of them are awesome... in clear water i like to use the bps hand pour dropshot minnows for a trailor...
  24. I agree...buy what works...i have yet to find a jerkbait that will out fish a lucky craft..well worth the money...
  25. drop shot and shakey head in any depth or temp of water...
