  1. i recentley picked one of these up from a friend its never been used...the rod has 10 guides and is a good looking rod model is ptcaf 4776 1mh... anyone know if this is a good rod and what they sold for new? i cant find anything anywere about them on google or yahoo
  2. if i could use my name to make money...your darn right i would...as long as i wasnt actually lying about it...im sure when he was promoting the rocket rod thing he wasnt trying to push it as a tournament quality rod or something tournament fisherman would use...and the helicopter lures are not the greatest bait ever, but my gma bought me some when i was little for my bday and i caught alot of fish on them out of the ponds i fished when i was younger...it was sort of like a soft plastic buzz bait....if someone offered you say... i dunno 50,000 to plug a product you didnt like are you telling me you wouldnt take it??haha cant blame the man for making an easy living...im sure he is well aware that tournament fisherman like us probably wont buy something we dont think will work anyway..
  3. im not talking about being fished...im talking if you bought them and put them up for 5 years are they still going to perform the same? this was asked at a local tackle shop yesterday and the owner couldnt answer...if you can answer this please include standard power bait...i know gulp doesnt last haha
  4. thanks for the suggestion, but im not a carrot stix fan...i dont like the grip or the way the rod feels...feels like a piece of plastic and i cant seem to hold on to it when it rains haha...if im gonna buy a rod in that price range i will get another shimano crucial...way better rod in my opinion...i like the allstars...think i might go that route..
  5. Good Luck & Tight Lines!!! excellent!!! i hope some people will read this so they will realize what they are buying
  6. if its gonna cost you 100 bucks for all that i would probably go ahead and just replace it.. to many good reels out there in the 100-200 dollar range
  7. hey not a bad lookin rod for 75 bucks!haha i might be able to have some fun shoppin for a flippin stick after all lol
  8. need to get a heavy action flippin stick for the potomac in a few weeks and i wont be using it much after that so i didnt want to fork out a bunch of money on something im only gonna use for a few days...any suggestions?i need somthing for flippin grass and other types of aquatic slop
  9. lc pointer 78 in standard and dd lc pointer 100 in standard in dd three colors will cover most situations.. chartreuse shad, ghost minnow and ms american shad... get these baits and a couple of staysee's and you will have all you need in the jerkbait department.. maybe throw in a couple bevy shads two hehe
  10. dog poop + dead fish + rotten tomatos + brett farves jock strap = what gulp smells like.... blah!!
  11. great interview glenn...i love watching these things!
  12. dont fillet the pan fish, put them on a hook while they are still alive so you can catch a big ol bass to eat... ;D just kidding
  13. It makes me wonder what is going on with our school systems these days.
  14. No. West Virginia. oh ok...reason i asked is because there alot of guys from wv that are members in wythe county bassmasters.... oh man...you guys drove that far and they still did you like that...wow...sounds like they did that crap on purpose...some people get spitefull when they keep gettin whooped...just wait till they start calling you cheaters...this is messed up for real...
  15. is this a club in our area fbl?
  16. if there was a time change and the tournament director didnt anounce it before he started calling boat numbers, then they should have weighed your fish..thats a bunch of bull...i would def protest wether you had enough to win or not...its things like this that give tournament fishing a bad name..dont let this turn you against tournaments...most of the time the rules are stated by the director before blast off..this kinda thing does happen but not often...if nothing else the director should refund your entry fee...where was the tournament at? who was the director?
  17. texas rig with a 1/4 oz weight throw it out let it sink to the bottom...sometimes they hit it on the fall..if they dont...pull the bait up and let it fall again or drag it a little and let is sit a few seconds the repeat...those retrieves have worked for me...but that was soooo long ago lol....green pumpkin and redshad were always good colors
  18. any of the baits are good, but dont buy the live pointers they suck bad...total junk.... the pointer 78 and 100 are great choices, atleast get one pointer in ghost shad...sammy is good in about any color..i like the small one...rc are good in ms american shad... all of em are good but the pointer 78 is the most dependable fish catcher for me
  19. sounds like something a head would say : pondmaster.....still try to fish cover, since you have to carry your rigs you prob wont have but a couple....on one i would have a 3/0 off set gammy round bend, this way you can fish a senko or a fluke on it and can swap them out with ease, on the other use a shakey head with a finesse worm or a craw of somekind...try to parallel the bank if the fish are shallow...if fishing a point just fish it like you would from a boat but backwards...sometimes fishing up the point works better..
  20. based on fishing style, i like aaron martens, his style is alot like my own...
  21. use what you feel comfortable with...there is no reason you couldnt fish a frog on a spinning set up...just keep an eye on your drag...and if im in a tournament i always use a net, even on small 1.5- 2lb fish, no reason not to use it if it increases the odds of getting the fish in the boat...
  22. florescent line and a black light helps alot if you are planning on fishing a worm or a jig or somthing...if you are gonna use topwaters, spinnerbaits or somthing like that you probably wont need it...but like stated above...just fish like you did in the daytime...
  23. depends on whether im just fishing for fun or fishin a tournament..Line may need to be changed, clothes might need to be packed if the tournament is out of town, but if its just a regular trip, just long enough to load my gear and get hooked up
