  1. I love watching this stuff when I've got some free time. I'm sure you guys up north will enjoy it even more when you can't fish. Bassmaster University Live http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/bassmaster/fishingtips/bmu/live Bassmaster Live Day On The Lake http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/bassmaster/fishingtips/livedayonthelake Enjoy. Lots of good stuff found in both of them.
  2. Far, far too many. Stupid monkey.......
  3. Oddly enough, I was thinking about posting a question about this earlier. I need to go out and check it out. I've heard good things about it from a few of my friends.
  4. That thing is d**n near big enough to use as a boat cover.
  5. Exact same reason I returned both my casting rod and spinning rod.
  6. I just want to know where you find a shirt that long....
  7. Works for me. I'll pick up another three blade then. Appreciate it guys.
  8. A new Crucial and a Citica will be a bit over the $250 mark depending on which rod you pick up. That being said, they're definitely worth the money. If you keep a watch on the flea market here, you can find Citicas for $100 or less. The rods don't come up all that often, but when they do you can certainly save several bucks on those. The Pro Qualifiers are a great option for 20 bucks less. BPS frequently has them on sale. Thats the time to ****** one up. If you're buying one at the normal price, you might as well spend the extra 20 bucks for the Citica.
  9. Yeesh, Mike. You're wracking up the frequent flyer miles over to China lately, aren't you. Hope you have a good flight, thats a beast of a trip. I'm not looking forward to my flight over there next year.
  10. The Crucial Drop Shot/ Shaky Head spinning rods are fantastic. Nice soft tip with plenty of backbone. I've got a 2500 reel on mine and couldn't be happier with it. Great stick.
  11. Couldn't have really said that any better. Whenever I deployed, it didn't bother me all that much. I tried as hard as possible to handle everything that I could before leaving. Unfortunately, the things that you can't control are the things that bother you the most. Communication is key on deployments. The more you're able to talk, write, send smoke signals, etc etc the better things always are.
  12. Just out of curiosity, what is the major difference between the two props? Going to be used on a bow mount for my Jon. My older prop is starting to get beat up a bit, I figured right now would be a good time to replace it and have the old one as a spare. What's the biggest difference between a two blade and a three blade prop. Thanks.
  13. A lot of it depends on the cover or structure that you're fishing around. A M powered rod is plenty if you're around sparse cover. A MH will probably serve you better as an all around rod. As far as length goes, use something you're comfortable with. My "bottom contact" rods Shimano Crucial 7'6" MH / Shimano Citica - 12lb Fluoro or 30lb braid w/ 12-14lb Fluoro or Co-poly leader Shimano Crucial 6'10" MH / Shimano Citica - 40lb braid w/ 14lb Fluoro or Co-poly leader Shimano Crucial 7'2" M Spinning / Shimano Sahara - 20 lb braid w/ 8-12lb Fluoro leader
  14. Oh. Well If I'm eating a ham thats like you described, I'll pass on it myself. The hams I have during the holidays are always moist, juicy, and effin delicious.
  15. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewfluorocarbontest.html http://www.tackletour.com/reviewfluorocarbon2.html The BPS XPS Fluoro is some really good stuff.
  16. You're right. You are a horrible person. How can you not like the Christmas ham!
  17. Oh man, thats great. Thumbs up for that pic.
  18. For most fishing, I like a longer rod. Most of mine are 7'3 to 7'6. My primary worm and jig rod is a 6'10 though. I feel like I have a little more control over the bait with the shorter rod. It forces me to slow down a little more when working a bait at long distance.
  19. Keep that junk up there. I want this winter type of stuff to get the heck out of here....
  20. Made soup tonight with some of the leftover Turkey. Nom nom nom nom nom!
  21. Heck yea. I also had a little South Bend spinning reel too. This thread almost makes me want to crawl into the attic and search for'em, ALMOST. And Sam is right. Everyone that fished saltwater fished a Penn. Penn Senator, Penn Jigmaster, Penn Squider, Penn Knucklebuster. I still fish Penn. Although most of them are Slammers now. I've got a few conventional reels hiding somewhere in a box. Hell, I've still got the Senator rod and reel sitting in the garage that I caught my first Marlin on. Still works great to this day.
  22. I tried one out. Absolutely hated it. That goofy little bar got in the way more than anything.
  23. 45.4 and dropping right now I could live with the cold. It's the gusts up to 41 that are killer.
  24. Great fish, Robert. That in the canals behind your house? I know you said you've got some big fish hiding out in there. Kev, sounds good to me. I'll come give you a whuppin out on your lake. If not, I know of a fairly large lake in my area that is electric only.
  25. Please tell me it was something manly! Spent a few Christmas bucks on a pair of new reels. My Man card hasn't been pulled quite yet.
