Trimming a jig
Gene Larew Salt Craw My favorite is still a GYCB Fat Baby Craw. Those are a bit price prohibitive though. The Larew Craw is a bargain. Five or Six bucks for a 20 pack. The Yamamoto's are like six and a half bucks for a 10 pack.

Prank war...
I gotta admit, the saran wrap over the toilet is d**n funny. I miss being younger when my brother and I used to go at it with each other. I can't wait until my daughters are older so I can really screw with them.

Pitching rod question?
Pitching is nothing more than a style of casting. You can pitch with ANY rod. The power of the rod you need is dependent on what you're going to be using and where you're using it.

Eagle Claw Tungsten
Don't know. The packaging doesn't say. They're the same size as the 97% ones I have.

Eagle Claw Tungsten
Anybody ever used Eagle Claw branded tungsten weights? I was in Dicks looking around and saw it in there. Dirt cheap too. I paid $1.97 a pack. Just curious how they are on line fraying.

Trimming a jig
Personally, I believe that trimming a jig is more personal preference than anything. I've never really noticed a difference in catch rates from an untrimmed skirt versus one that I've trimmed. That being said, I prefer a short skirt. I'll cut mine just below the hook usually. I like the trailer to be the focus of the jig. Lots of times I'll thin out the skirt by removing or cutting a few strands off the outer and inner skirt. A bulkier skirt will fall slower through the water. I trim most of my jigs the same way to keep things even across the board. I can then adjust the rate of fall with difference jig weights or trailers if needed. That is for a silicone skirt. I've never fished a skirt with the longer living rubber. Supposedly leaving those longer is the better choice. I'll leave that topic up to somebody else that is more familiar with them. As far as the brushguards go, I'll usually trim mine just a little bit so the bristles just touch the barb of the hook. No more than that. If you shorten it too much, all you're doing is stiffening the guard up. Trimmed on the right. Thats actually a hair longer than I'd usually use.

Tying leader to braid
Leader length for drop shotting isn't excessively important. I usually put on roughly a 7-10 foot leader. My primary drop shot rod is 7'2". Whats more important is to leave yourself enough of a tag end under the hook so you can adjust your weight accordingly to what the fish want. It's far easier to start with the DS rig too long than it is to start with it too short.

NFC West
My father and I were talking about this a few days ago. I'd much rather see teams get put into the playoffs based solely on their records. Similar to how the NBA seeding works.

Tying leader to braid
Good video, Francho. Thats the first one I've seen of an Alberto getting tied. I like the way he held that. I need to give that a try.

Tying leader to braid
20lb braid = 6-8 pound leader. Occasionally 12. 30lb braid = 10-14 pound leader. 40lb braid = 14-20 pound leader. 10-15 turn Albright Special 8-10 turn Alberto Both knots work fantastic. The Albright is a little thinner of a knot. The Alberto is a little shorter. I've never had a problem with breakage on either knot. The Alberto is nothing more than a modified Albright. The amount of wraps is based upon the thickness of the lines being used.

Did anybody catch anything decent this weekend???
Nice fish right there, Mike. Bet she had a blast. I got out for an hour earlier. Senko's and t-rigged craws. Fish were holding on the drop offs in about 12-15 FOW. Had a few striking much shallower. 10 brought into the boat. Best five would have gone 13 or so with a 4 being the largest.
