  1. I'm with you on that Francho. I slam my fish when I set the hook. Thats half the reason I started to use a co-poly in the last month. I was setting so hard (unintentionally) that I was tearing the fishes mouth during the hookset. The only times Ive broken a line were completely my fault. Either not retying, checking for abrasion, or a bad knot.

  3. Wow. Hell of a fish, David. Way to go man. I guess those new jigs are treating you well
  4. Who said he tied it in the first place? Just as an update, Burley was released from the hospital yesterday. Dear God, Bassn. That is one horrible mental image... Glad to hear that he's out, Stripes. Hope he's doing well.
  5. Finesse fishing is how you use a bait. Any bait. You can drop shot into matted vegetation. You can finesse a 1 ounce jig.
  6. Bah Humbug. As much as I enjoy watching my daughters open up presents, I can't wait for Christmas to end. I hate how it gets jammed down your throat the second Thanksgiving ends. That being said, my tradition is to eat. A lot.
  7. Wow, long time no see LBH. Glad things are looking better for you now. Welcome back!
  8. Short of that thing being full of leaks, that sounds like a pretty good deal to me. If the batteries and TM are good, that alone would run you over 150 bucks.
  9. Lots of people here like Avids. Lots like Cumaras. Both of them are very good rods. You need to get your hands on each of them and see how they feel in your hands. Personally, I'd go for the Cumara if I was buying a new rod. I just don't like the handle on the Avid. Wasn't comfortable to me.
  10. That was one the the first things I was taught when I initially got into the food business. Makes for a good steak. I'd much rather use a grill personally. Clary. O'Douls? Ugh. Dude. Go slap yourself.
  11. Just a friendly update: Ended up putting 15# Hybrid on my paddletail rod as well. I use that rod for pitching into light/moderate cover also. I've been very happy with this setup so far. Makes a mean Senko tossing setup. I'm still undecided on the 12# for my t-rig rod. Sensitivity isn't an issue as I've gotten much more used to it over the month. I still need to get better hooksets with this line though. Probably a bit more rod speed when I swing is needed. Love the way this stuff casts on casting reels though. It's silky smooth.
  12. I thought that I had personally given them enough money to stay in business for years....
  13. AmTran Tech out of Taiwan makes Vizio products. The LCD screens they use are made by LG. The Plasma models are a lower grade screen made by Panasonic.
  14. No order needed Tombstone Shawshank Redemption Braveheart Full Metal Jacket The Big Blue And just to be a jackass a sixth: Schindler's List I don't really have a favorite. I love way too many movies to actually list them.
  15. No particular order. I can't say just three though. Drop Shot (Roboworm 6" straight tail or small Lake Fork Magic Shad) Small Texas Rigged creature baits Swimbaits Flipping Plastics Frogs Definitely had better size with the frogs and flipping baits
  16. Same thing here in Florida. If you "feel" threatened, etc etc. Way to go for the owner. Heres to hoping he pulls through ok.
  17. How do you like that Elite Glenn. I'm assuming it's the Kuro. My uncle has one and loves it. One reason why I bought the LED I did is because of the true black is has. There is no replacement for a really deep black color. As far as Sony goes, I loved my old Sony. Shame it finally took a dump on me. I had to replace bulbs far too often, and the LCD panel finally started to go on it. I miss that TV. :'(
  18. I never said it was ultra effective. I personally use VOSS drop shot sinkers from TW. They're ultra cheap, have a good swivel, and they work. I don't really care if I lose a few of those. If I run out though, I'll use those casting sinkers that Walmart carries also.
  19. If you've got the cash, the Samsung LED's are just ridiculous. I haven't had a TV in my house that has a better picture. Loved my first one so much I went out and bought a second one. Toshiba also makes a fantastic TV. I've got a Toshiba Regza in my bedroom and have had no complaints about that thing at all. Vizio makes a decent TV. Nothing great, nothing bad. You'll get a pretty good picture quality, without the features of the other TV's. The lower priced TV's will also have a weaker processor inside of them. You'll end up with motion blur on most of those units when you're watching something thats moving very quickly across the screen. As far as the 3D goes, I was not impressed at all with it. I initially wanted to get one for the kids, but the picture quality was really bad. I'll wait a year or two so they can refine the 3D imaging. Do yourself a favor and spend some time shopping around. Go to a store and compare a bunch of different models and see what you like.
  20. Primarily because you want the weight to come off the line if it gets snagged so you don't have to retie the whole rig.
  21. Yup. It aint too shabby!
  22. I hate you..... And at the same time, I think I love you..... :'(
