  1. I was told that the last two colors a bass could see as the water got deeper was purple and blue. Well I thought it was more black or green. As the water gets deeper what are the last colors a bass can see? Is there any way to prove this?
  2. I have 2 exelers and I would recommend them to anyone. I love them. And I'm no shimano fan by any means, but I think the citica is probably your best bet.
  3. I also read somewhere that the one with all of the sections, the pointer or live pointer. Whatever, the end of it after a few fish, the wire or whatever it is that gives them action and holds them together messes up and it doesnt swim true. That seems kinda lame for a $15-$20 jerkbait.
  4. Agreed. I've heard good things about the Extremes and I'd say at their sale price they are a good value, but at $80 you have a a few options that would offer better performance, durability, and fishing pleasure for only a little more money. What else is good at $80 and let me just say I do not trust EBAY or anything else like it.
  5. chart/white spinnerbaits with big thumpin colorado blades. I guess shakey heads and try to find clear pockets or eddies I don't know, I fish for largemouth in lakes man, I'm guessin here. :
  6. How about lucky crap. could that sell and be unbashable? ;D
  7. I really do believe MegaStrike was the final touch. I have never before been 100 percent sure when it comes to any scent, in fact until this season, and I have been fishing for bass for over 20 years, I was only 50 percent sure at best that adding scent would help. I mean I have had days where adding scent I caught fish, but was it the scent that caused them to strike? On this day I know for sure in my mind, that it was the final factor. They just would not take the frog no matter how I worked it until I added MegaStrike and with that I am 100 percent sold on MegaStrike. Honestly I have never had confidence in any scent they way I do with some lures. line, rod's, reels and so forth and I have tried many many brands of scent over the years. Edge Hot Sauce Gel I did/do have some confidence in, that being that the bass will hit it, but I have never seen anything like this, in fact I have seen followers before and have juiced before under those situations, but I have never seen juicing (as I call it) actually really make that big of a difference until now. It may have helped in the past, but on this day I know it more then just helped. Wow man, you seem pretty pumped. Maybe you should order some more to get your fix. ;D
  8. I honestly have never heard of a season for bass. Luckily we can fish for them year round
  9. I have yet to use a rod in that price range that can equal the sensitivity. IMO you can honestly feel EVERYTHING. Try one at night with a big thumpin colorado blade. woooooo!!!! you can feel every blade of grass it seems. I also heard AIRRUS makes a killer sensitive rod.
  10. It's really not fair for me to vote on this poll, I am not a Shimano person. But I have nothing negative to say about them. As a matter of fact I still have a Shimano crestfire from when I was young and it still works. It was my fresh and salt reel. Also my first baitcaster ever was a Shimano SG, and I loved it. Now I'm all about ABU and Daiwa.
  11. I would go with slug go's, spinnerbaits, and jigs or A pegged brush hog or beaver style bait
  12. in the flea market. For a difference of only $15 (and that's only if your price included shipping) It would be nice and I appreciate it but I am just not a shimano guy, also I need to order some shad raps and more 12" sqirmin super worms from BPS.
  13. Well I'm one mouse click from buying my first BPS reel. I am getting the extreme with the flippin switch. I just had to hear it. AM I MAKING A MISTAKE BY BUYING THIS REEL? It's only $80 but still that's a lot of lures and plastics i could buy. YES or NO :-?
  14. As long as it has good strength. That is what is important to me. I spray Blakemores reel magic on my line while spooling and it wipes out line memory.
  15. That's what that 7:1 gear ratio on that reel is for. buzz them accross the top of the water.
  16. When I have the itch and can't go fishing I usually go in the garage or one of my bigger rooms, set up targets(cups or plant pots) and practice pitchin and flippin. It never hurts to practice accuracy.
  17. I love Daiwa and Revos. But if I had to choose I would go with a REVO SX our wal-mart here sales them for $149. If you sweet talk the nice lady at Abu Garcia you can still get the Wiley X glasses for free.
  18. Is there a limit to how many times you can shake it before people start questioning you? 8-) after 3 shakes you are just playing with it.
  19. Why did they kill the fish?
  20. Yes, and come to find out, in my case it was'nt bass, it was bluegill.
  21. X rap,Rogue, Bandit series 100,200, and shallow flat maxx. bagleys baitfish( lipless crank )all in chartruese if possible.
  22. That D.O.A shrimp has been my ticket for speckled trout lately, haven't tried it for bass though I have been catching specks on D.O.A. shrimp for years.
