  1. I can only give an opinion on the sahara . It is one of the better lower cost reels that I have ever used.
  2. What you never fished at bass lakes on 585 outside of doylestown Bass Brat?? ;D Never bass fished there but they got some 40+lb cats and tons of trout just like the ones he pictured. Wonder if that place is still open?? No never fished Bass lakes , they stock trout early spring at Lake Anna in Barberton and Silver Creek in Norton.
  3. There's a thread going now "An interesting point of view" , it might be interesting to you. It was started by Catt.
  4. Go with the cabelas for small water . If you are fishing larger water , go with ghoti's suggestion.
  5. That's what I call going out in style.
  6. The longer the better. 7 ' or 7'6" Med power , moderate action for shallow water Med/ hvy power , moderate fast action for deeper water. JMHO Hope this helps.
  7. 5.2:I for lipped cranks . 6.4: for rat-l-traps.
  8. They are good rods and when you can get them at a discount , they become great rods. A great company and owner to do business with.
  9. Buy what you can afford . If you fish a lot of plastics go with the loomis. For everything else a st. croix will do.
  10. The last time I got to fish on a rainey day was back in Oct. and I caught 8 bass and 1 Walleye (7 lbs.). So have at it and good luck.

  14. Just for cranking , you don't need a rod with sensitivity or did you not realize that ? Sure you do, if your rod is as stiff as a crowbar then the crankbait won have the right action. If your rod doesnt have sensitivity for cranking then you wont know what your bouncing your crankbait off of and we all know that thats a great technique. If it doesnt have sensitivity you may not know your crankbait is hitting rocks or wood at all. And we wouldnt want that We're not using pool sticks , the rod I mentioned to him will do nicely for cranking. JMHO The best of luck to ya' Maybe you would like to recomend a good outfit for him to buy ?
