I have the spinning version . It's a good reel for the money.JMHO The true test will be how long it functions before it wears out. The spinning version has only been out one year.

Carolina rig , slop , senko are some uses. Stren super braid , power pro , sufix braid are some of the better lines. 20 to 50 lb. lines are commonly used.
