If I were you , I would get the avids , a great rod .

Each to their own but I use braid with a leader of flouro . Definately less stretch.

Never used that particular rod but you are correct the high graphite rods are more likely to break if you aren't more careful with them.

I just bought one but haven't got a chance yet to use it.

On gin clear water it may have an effect if you are fishing slow tactics . you can always add a fluoro leader. I personally think it doesn't matter when you are throwing fast moving baits ( CRANKS, SPINNER BAITS). Just my opinion.

When fishing the wacky set-up . I'll use a o-ring and slide it on the worm and put the hook between the worm and the o-ring . Your bait doesn't get tore up.

The first one is always the worst with all the worrying about if every thing will go right. Hang in there and always have a plan B in place.

For general purpose I would get a 6'6" med-hvy fast tip rod. Just my humble opinion.

I haven't heard anything about "THE HOT NEW BAIT FOR 07" yet.

There is a trade off for every thing , evidently your's is not loosing baits , sometimes you have to change up your tactics to accomplish what you want to do. I use braid most of the time (10 - 30 lb. test) but I also use flouro when it calls for it.
