how would you approach this scenario ?
If you get a good change in water temps it will get them going. Once you get the water temps down a warm snap won't bring them back up that fast. They might slow down but they are still there. I'm with CJ...you find the bait you'll find the fish. Good luck

Trailer Hooks
Having the trailer move once the fish is hooked is good but the main reason is hook position before the bite. When you have the tubing over the eye of the trailer you can get it to stay sideways when you bang into cover etc. After I hit something and start my return I want that hook back inline with the bait.

Trailer Hooks
I do not attach the tubing over the eye. I put the hook on and then the keeper. I want the hook to move.

Powell rod user's
I agree with the crazy one the 683CEF is the one. I got my 682C for super light jigs. Which it does great. However, most of the time I find myself wishing I would of went up a number on the power.

Fall bass behavior
Start at that point you like and work your way back into the creeks or coves. If they have moved back there you will find them. Bass usually will become way more mobile as the water temps drop so if you are not getting them on your point they are probably not there. When they are feeding you will be seeing them blowing up. A lot of times you will see them will pushing bait fish into the bank. Obviously temps are always important but I try not to get hung up on numbers. Many people say 70 degrees is the magic number for fall. I look at it more as a difference in temps. If you start getting a 10 degree difference from your summer temps it's usually about that time. The key though is to have a feel for what the temps have been doing. If it's been super hot and you get some cold weather usually, it won't be enough to get it going. However, like eastky said, if your temps have been steadily dropping a cold snap can do it. A cold rain at that time will put it into overdrive.

Need advice on walleye fishing
If a zander is like a walleye I see why you keep them. Walleye are phenominal eating.
