Retying lure
Thanks guys, some good points raised here. The line was 10lb, was either CXX or Yozuri Hybrid ultrasoft. I've kept it away from constant UV exposure, but it might be old. Have a bad habit of not making a note when I respool. Never thought about a cut in the knot or a nick on the guides, I'll check for that. Had I snagged a few fish, I probably would have a better understanding, but when I lost the 2 cranks, I hadn't caught anything to that point.

Retying lure
Sorry guys, probably a dumb question, but I have to ask. The last two times I was out, throwing some small cranks & rattletraps, I lost two of them. Like anyone else, hate losing them, but was checking my line and didn't feel any nicks, was tying a palomar knot, but I wasn't retying every 4th/5th cast. Was fishing around a little structure, but I don't have a feel for what happened. How often do you guys retie a crank, or any lure for that matter. Thanks, Mitch

Do I need Norton
X2 on either AVG or avast. I've used Norton, McAfee, PC-Cillin, Kapersky, and ultimately wound up with various types of infections with all. Never a problem with AVG, although V8.0 leaves something to be desired. Avast is rock solid.

A weird question, but
Yea, that's the one Sam. I'm not a lure collector either (can't afford it), but it doesn't seem to be popular. I was looking for something that can track what I have, and allow to print reports of what I have, which might tell me what I would be buying in the future. Maybe I'll write one myself.

A weird question, but
has anyone used any type of software like Fishing Lure collector, or similar to it. If so, what did you like or not like about it. Would anyone find software like this useful?

Egg Nog
Egg nog reminds me of a cup of puke. I can't even think about attempting to drink that vomit. Ugh.

Tonights late night snack is??
Grimlin, you can try this, preferably with really good ramen noodles, but the cheapee's work as well: Cook as instructed pinch of garlic powder fresh ground pepper several dashes of sesame oil baby bok choy (whereever you can find it) or some chopped cabbage dash of tabasco one sliced egg white - add at the end of cooking. Tasty

I don't post here much (lurk for information, mostly), but Catt, I wish for God to offer peace and guidance for the family. Terrible story, very sad.

What does our future hold in America?
That is a great and insightful question. I don't think America will survive, and the reason is it's people and it's government. We, as a nation, no longer have the resolve to solve any problem and our government is not only bought & paid for, but china essentially 'owns' us. We're broke, we make essentially nothing, and as a nation, we're not problem solvers and we are not taking our government to task for all of the wrong things it has done. Truthfully, and just my opinion and that is all it is, we have a bleak future, IF we have a future at all.

GHOST'S FISHING ROOM
I remember pictures of Natural's tackle 'room', but this is equally as nuts! That is a ton of neat stuff.

Need help with clutch fluid
Muddy, as a former tech, I'll recommend always check the owners manual, if you can. DOT 3 is typically used as the fluid for most (not all) hydraulic clutch systems. Top it off, but by the way, it is a good idea to have it flushed & refilled, just like a brake system. Brake fluid is hygroscopic (absorbs water), so take note.

Circuit Board Cranks
Great pics. I checked Brian Bee's website, some absolutely beautiful cranks, but the prices? $65.00 for a crankbait? Uh, no.

The insanity begins: What are your local Gas Prices?
To preface my response, I love this site & enjoy the people here. I'm more of a lurker & get tons of valuable information from everyone here. However, gouging DOES exist, whether one wants to agree with the concept or definition, or not. Lets face it, people are greedy. They either want something for nothing, or they want business to sell it for less. Business has adopted the same attitudes we've held for so long. They are going to jack the price as legally high as they can. I've talked to too many independent station owners. They have been stuck for a while, but now with oil around the $100 mark, they are making up for their lack of profits (all that I've talked to admit to this), and are drooling over Ike. How about we raise all food by 500% tomorrow. No problem? How about all electric & natural gas utilities are raised by 700% on Monday? Ok with you? Gouging? Capitalism isn't fair & doesn't coincide with the so-called norms of our society. Pick one, do you want to be fair, or is money so important that fairness no longer matters? I say let gas go to $15-20/gallon, and a loaf of bread go to $10. Then we'll see what many say when their 50-100k salary barely keeps them in their house. If it's all about money & capitalism, then being fair and helping your fellow man no longer matters, it's the new God. Money.

Question on Yamomoto grubs
Hey Thanks everybody, I appreciate the suggestions. I think, over time, I'll just try them all & see what works for me. Avid, glad to see you are back!

Question on Yamomoto grubs
Okay, thanks. Sounds like I'll be getting some jig heads. Curious though, could these grubs BE fished like an Ika? If so, what hook to use, maybe a #1 offset shank gammy?

Question on Yamomoto grubs
Ya' know, I don't know. The single tail only says 4" Single Tail #40-20-286, and the double-tail says 4" double tail # 15-20-128. No skirts in either, just tails.

Question on Yamomoto grubs
Having spent some time learning to fish with the senko's, I picked up a pack of Ika's and one pack of single-tail 4" grubs and a pack of double-tail 4" grubs. I'm calling these grubs, but the body looks real similar to the Ika. Anyway, I knew if I could get an answer as to how to rig the grubs, it would be here, as I'm unsure. Also, would I rig the Ika same as a fat Ika? Any help appreciated. Mitch

anything you enjoy as much as fishing or more
As much as I enjoy fishing, I still enjoy gardening, playing guitar, reading, model collecting, photography and still write high level business logic software now & again, depending on the project.

JIMI HENDRIX-gone 37 years now
Muddy, completely agree. SRV's rehab was well publicized, fans all over knew where he was at, at the time. But, I agree with your statement. Celebrities generally have a hard time of that.

JIMI HENDRIX-gone 37 years now
Muddy, didn't know you were a drummer. You're still playing, I hope. I was hesitant about mentioning this, but I spent 6 weeks in rehab 21 years ago in Atlanta. On the second day I was there, SRV was admitted, after falling off the stage at a show in England. For the first week, he was still pretty cocky, but after that, he was one of the most humble guys I hung around with in the center. He even let me hold & play '#1', and yep, he slept with her too! I was at lunch from work the day his death was announced. Went home & listened to every SRV tape I had. He was really a nice guy, cleaned up and continued his great music right up to the end. Still miss him.

the pennants are in view the trash is flying 2007
Muddy, once the Indians get past the Yankmee's, you'll find out who the American League is! ;D Seriously, I, like you, remembered seeing Gibson pitch. The ONLY pitcher, to me, since Bob Gibson who was as dominant was Nolan Ryan. Watched 2 of his no-hitters.

Any wine drinkers here?
Avid, ya stole it from me! ;D Here, I was about to mention the vintage MD2020, vintage 3pm Friday 9/21. Smelly, but a great kick! Actually can't drink wine anymore due to sulfates. Sigh! :-[
