  1. You are going to love that 100dsv. Bought mine in early March, 2 weeks after having bought a TD Fuego. The Daiwa, while very nice, is sold. Looking to eventually pick up either an MG50 or a Calais.

Avid, that's the best d**n truck on the market, bar none. Mine ('99) is coming up on 300K, runs the same as day 1. I figure I'll get 550k-600K, keep as a trophy of engineering and go get another one. Tacomas, you can drive 'em forever and then some. Enjoy it.
  3. GMAN, who OR what are you burying this time? 8-)
  4. Muddy, funny stuff ;D

Avid, glad you're OK & nothing bad (injury wise) happened. Now, go buy a new truck. Geez, between you, Catt & the glass incident, I'm staying in (maybe in my basement).
  6. Hey Brokejew, the GLX will have the same warranty as their other rods - limited lifetime.
  7. I, too, am somewhat disappointed with Shimano's price hikes, but if the new reels offer even better quality/durability, then they will probably prove to be worth the price. I know with proper maintenance, I'll be using my Curado for 15 yrs +. Have a buddy who has a Van Staal & he likes it, but said he probably wouldn't buy another, due to price. In my opinion only, I just think they are homely, but they are truly built like tanks & weigh about as much.
  8. Avid, recover and return. And PLEASE leave the nurses along, OK?
  9. Soccer? What's that? She does look nice though. Avid, don't remember when it was to happen, but good luck on the hospital visit, hope you heal up fast.
  10. Man! That was terrible. Sure hope the car wasn't injured.....
  11. Happy Birthday Matt. Enjoy that bike, nice looking.
  12. Muddy, It's called Life. Neither right or wrong, good or bad, righteous or evil, yet it encapsulates all of it, it's the surmounting issue of all who are here: Life. Some are good, some are bad. Life isn't fair, never has been, never will be. Why do many corporate crooks make away with their millions? Why do children die of diseases they can't even pronounce? The faster people realize what life is & what you are here for, the better. I'm still trying to figure the last one out. It sure wasn't to become a pro fisherman! Keep at man, we love you for it.
  13. I have my timing down pretty well on setting the hook & agree wholeheartedly on C & R, but this: "It only makes sense to spend some money on making sure that they are released in GOOD shape!" No, I don't agree. A $20 tool? Sure. $80, sorry, I'll eat the fish.
  14. Muddy, glad you're here, but I HAVE to correct you on something. I've seen Luis Aparicio play, Ozzie play and by far, hands down, best SS EVER: Omar Vizquel. Sorry man...........
  15. Muddy, I understand. Don't know ya, but know I'd like ya. Well, take a break or tell the guy to take a hike. If you take a break, we'll miss ya. Come on back.
  16. Muddy, I have some used knitting needles and a stack of comics for your new hobby. Let me know where to send em! ;D
  17. Wow, that was truly sick. Couldn't get past 5 seconds of it. :-X
  18. Now that's funny, don't care who you are ;D
  19. Avid (and Speed), listen, I give my opinion and don't, under any circumstances expect everyone to agree. As I previously said, last I heard, Lion wasn't an edible dish. Had the Lion ripped them up, well, part of the balance & cycle. Lions have enough to deal with without hunters who are looking for a trophy (obviously don't know the intent of the hunters involved), but, If I offended you guys in any way, I apologize, but I stand by what I said and I didn't see it offensive.
  20. I'll preface this by stating I'm not against hunting, i.e. deer (venison) for food, and I'm not a hunter. Last I heard, you don't eat Lion. I'm only sorry to NOT see the Lion rip them to shreds. That would have been funny.
  21. Happy Birthday LBH, man, thought you were about 20. Wish I was 40 again, or 45, or........
  22. Leave it to a UPS driver to skate on thin ice. 8-)
  23. Shimano Symetre. At Dicks for 69.95 & a $10 discount coupon from GA DNR fishing magazine, so got mine for 59.95. Nice reel.
  24. Avid, for cryin' out loud, man, get rid of IE7. IE7 has nearly as many 'holes' as IE5/6, swiss cheese. Get Firefox. You'll have more control over your browser, have much better security and has a ton of available add-ons. I stopped using IE years ago when I found over 400 spyware bots & 13 viruses on my system - this while running anti-spyware & anti-virus software. Not one problem since.
  25. So far, so good. When I bought the Premier, I was short on $, so an Avid was out of the question, but it's turned out to be a really good rod. Light, balanced with the Symetre, pretty versatile. If I were to buy a new spinning rod today, I probably get an Avid, but the Premier (got it with a Dick's coupon as well, $60) has worked out.
