Gainesville Florida Hot Spots
So I am finally getting back home to Florida and settling in Gainesville for awhile. I grew up in Central Florida so the north east new to me as far as fishing goes. I use an inflatable with a trolling motor and I was wondering what some good ponds and lakes may be for my boat? I definitely have Newnans Lake on the list but again, I cant go too far cuz I rely on battery power and a full day on the water means minimal travel and more fish time. I was also really excited to try Lake Alice right there in town but I read it was private. Bummer. Any input on Bivens Arm or any other spots close by? Anything worth going to within a 20 min drive from Gainesville?

Revo Stx (Centrifugal Brake Adjustment)
Ive been using a baitcaster since around 11 as well. 29 now so a long time. But I was just curious as to what you guys do. I have never really experemented too much with a DBS other than once or twice. Dont remember what I figured out but for whatever reason, I left the CB at neutral and just adjusted the mag brake, line tension, and used a little thumb work toward the end of the cast. It's nerve wrecking when you are tossing to close cover then see a massive boil 50 feet away, cast to it with your settings and *BFVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWGHCHRSHHHW* Nest from hell. lol Maybe I will try turning the brakes off and doing more experimentation when I get a chance. I'm definitely skilled with a BC.

Revo Stx (Centrifugal Brake Adjustment)
How do you guys adjust your "Centrifugal Brakes" on your Revo STX for flipping with heavier baits and how do you adjust for lighter plastics/weightless plastics? Or do you adjust the centrifugal brakes at all and just spin the mag brakes as needed? Typically, I just use the mag brake adjustment and the line tension adjustment between each lure change and leave the centrifugal brakes at neutral.

Would You Call In Sick To Go Fishing?
Living in Florida, no. I get to fish 24/7. I have called out of work a few times and when in high school I skipped 2 or 3 days to go surfing. Epic swells only come a few times a year lol.

What's Wrong With This Fish?
Probably sick. It looks stunted big time. I caught a 4 lber with one eye out. Somebody must have caught it in the eye years back.

I either swim them or use a technique called "feathering". I cast it out toward the bank, cover, weed line, ect..., let it fall a few seconds, pull the rod tip up in a smooth motion "not a twitch or a jerk", reel in slack and let it fall, pull rod tip up smooth, reel in slack let it fall, all the way to the boat. Works wonders from shore and from the boat. In reality, you can fish the speed worm in a million different ways but those two presentations get me bit like crazy. Ive caught a 7 1/2lber on the 6" speed worm. Try the larger one for those hogs. Make sure it's the Ultra Vibe Speed Worm. This worm has been a deadly secret for me when everybody is throwing brush hogs, trick worms, and lizards. Everybody is using this or that but I get the numbers on this worm every time.

Flipping grass and cover with a black and blue jig with rattle.- Revo S Or Revo Sx
From what I am reading, I think I may go with the S for my top water and cranking setup which I only use around 20% of the time. Keep my 2 STX's for flipping and light plastics. I'de love to have an all STX arsenal but going S on 2 of my setups saves me $140.- What Did You Buy Today!?
Dropped into Dick's again today. 2 packs of Big Bite Pumpkin flippin twirlin frog or something like that. Looked like a great flipping bait. 2 packs of KVD Watermelon Red Rodents. The big ones 2 packs of Watermelon Rage Craw Chunks 4 packs of Gamakatsu 4/0 hooks 3/8 black and blue jig 1/2 black and blue jig Slowly getting filled up for the season. I'm back in Florida in hopefully 4 months. Tackle Warehouse order arriving tomorrow. Stay tuned to a little unboxing vid. Some nice goodies in there!- Caught My Pb 6.10 Lbs
Very nice. Congrats on the new PB.- Champlain Inflatable Tips?

Those Rage worms are beast getters. I use them like crazy on Florida lakes. I'de throw the same again or try an Anaconda. Watermelon red is my go to big bass getter. I also fish them weightless.- Help Me Gain Confidence In The Senko
Ive tried them in a pond weightless wacky watermelon and watermelon red and tried them weightless texas rig style hook. Got frustrated and slapped on my Zoom Ultravibe worm watermelon and caught fish. Tried the Senko on the lake as well. Nuthin. Maybe I just need to try to fish them more. Some have mentioned using them Texas rigged for flipping with a bullet weight. I may try that. Flip some to cover with a 3/8 weight and see what happens. This was the reason I posted this thread. Everybody swears by them and I don't catch anything on them. I have only met one person in my life that agreed with me. I then meet people who can't catch fish on the baits I catch most of my fish on. This all most likely boils down to a confidence thing and that affects presentation.- My First Bait Caster Rig! Results Good! Pics Inside!
Nice man. I tell you, I've been using bait casters so long that I dont even like to use a spinning set up for small weightless worms. I would rather spend more on a bait caster that will throw them lol. I will be purchasing one in the future tho. They just make more sense for extreme finesse fishing and shore/pond fishing. I actually started with a bait caster. I did it the wrong way lol. What I love about then is the ability to finesse you bait out to spots and finesse the spool with your thumb for accuracy. Plus they haul those fatties out of the crap.- Help Me Gain Confidence In The Senko
Thanks for the feeback guys. I'm not reading anything I have not tried or already know. I guess I've just not been at the right place at the right time. But like everyone says, confidence is everything and I have about 5% confidence in that bait. Maybe I will try to throw it again this year and see if I cant get bit. These senkos are taking up two slots in my worm box lol.- Space Monkeys
Maybe Strike king is doing a little dirty work. Spreading false rumors in order to create sales. Seems like I've heard this story before... But seriously, I sure hope not. I always love to have a few bags of monkeys on hand. They are definitely on my "producers" list.- Space Monkeys
What!!!!!?? I did not hear about this. Must buy 20 packs. - What's Your Favorite Lure In Muddy Water
