Thats what I got. 2 packs of DOA swim baits in Golden Brim color. Supposedly this is THE color for Reds in the area.

What Did You Buy Today!?
Just moved back home to Florida last week and noticed when I moved in, the neighbor had a nice Flats boat in the driveway. Well we finally met today and he is taking me out for some reds next week. Stoked! So I went and picked up a Penn Battle 3000 reel and a Penn Battle 7' rod, 30lb braid, 25lb test floro leader, some 1/4 jig heads, and some swim baits in a supposed "Redfish producing colors". Also picked up 2 Guy Harvey T's. On the fresh water tip, Smokin Roosters, 4 packs of 4/0 Gama Superline EWG hooks, and a Texas Shad KVD 2.5

Music While Fishing
I use my iPhone and a Jam Box to listen to music quite a bit. Just depends on my mood. Sometimes i like music and sometimes I like the sounds of my surroundings. I'de say 15% of my time on the water is musical.

Dinky Trip To Pickwick
Very nice. I'm bummed today. Just moved back home to Florida last week and went fishing at Newnans lake and got zero! I hate seeing all the BR's catching em.

Newnans Lake (Gainesville, Fl)
I could hear massive crashes all over the place and not one single bite. Dont get it. Threw a frog, worm weightless and weighted, punched with a Beaver and Pitboss, threw a jig, and threw a crank bait. Nada. Anybody have any experience with this water it would be appreciated. BTW I am in an inflatable so I try to hang to the left and right sides of the boat access. I dont venture more than 800 yards on either side from the ramp really. I also noticed a bit of a creek area off the main lake but I did not go in there. That area good?

Fish Blood In My Eyes! Should I Worry?!?
I think you'll be alright. Just watch the eye for the next 48 hours and if anything comes up, got to the eye doctor. I'm sure you'll forget about all this by Monday and you'll laugh about it later.

How Much Have U Learned From Bassresource.com
I have been fishing most of my life and have quite a bit of knowledge and experience but reading on BassResource.com has help me with little things like techniques and new product discussion. Also new lures and bait discussion helps. I've been trying a few things I typically don't try from reading things here. It has also helped me understand Bass behavior much better. That is a big key in seasonal changes. I would imagine for a newbie angler, this place would be the place to learn all you could learn and then some.

How Do You Become Good At A New Technique
Use it. A lot. Then when you feel "confident" in the technique, you are now "good" at it. You dont have to do it by the book either. When I go Flipping and pitching, I very rarely make a textbook "pitch" to my targets unless it is extremely close. It just frustrates me so I roll cast like a mad man and I am like a friggin surgeon with a roll cast. Cheers.

Why Do You Bass Fish?
Five reasons. 1. I love being in and around water. 2. Bass smell good. 3. Bass look cool. 4. Bass are hard to catch. 5. When I am fishing, I am not working.

Do Soft Plastics Go Bad?
I dont believe so. Just keep them lubed with some oil/scent and you should be alright. As long as they are not dried out. I have had some stuff that I FINALLY threw away that was maybe 8 years old. No issues with them other them I cant remember what prompted me to buy them in the first place and why I had kept them for so long.

Most Bass Caught In A Day?
28 in one day. 2 fish over 5 lbs. 7 over 3 lbs. The rest were dinks.

They Found Snakehead
No it is not good for the lake but Bass and Snakehead can coexist. if I were a a 5 lb bass, I'de been inhaling small snakeheads. Personally, I dont like them and I will keep my view that the lakes are healthier without the unnatural introduction of other species, specifically, top of the food chain species. I will admit tho, they put up an intense and jerky fight from hell. I caught one and brought it in the boat. It bleed all over my book bag and boat and while it thrashed violently in the boat, it trashed my rods and reels. I was more than upset.

Can You Remember The First Time (Bass Fishing)
My first catch was when I was 4. Small Jack when I lived in Merritt Island. I remember doing some Bluegill fishing but I dont remember my first Bass. I think I was maybe 7.

Co-Polymer
I use Floroclear on all my setups that don't require braid. Other than my top water. It's great. A little stretchy, a little more durable, and a little more sentitive than mono. Love it. On 3 of my STX/Mojo Bass setups.

How Many Do You Need
To cover the basis, with the least amount I would say 4. That's what I use. Actually I use 5. But 4 go on the boat. I am also a fisherman for the sport. I do not do any tourneys. I'm sure if I fished tourneys I would have at least 8 Revo STX / Mojo Bass 7' MH/F / Power Pro 50lb Braid (Jigs, Pitching, Punching, Weighted Plastics) Revo STX / Mojo Bass 7' M/F / P-Line Floroclear 12 lb (Weightless Plastics) Revo S / Mojo Bass 7' MH/F / P-Line Floroclear 12 lb with a Speed Clip for changing lures on the fly. (Top Water) Revo S Spinning / Mojo Bass 7' M/F / P-Line Floroclear 10 lb with Speed Clip (Shore Fishing, Pond Fishing) If money was no object, I would add 2 more Revo STX / Mojo Bass 7' MH/F / Power Pro 50lb Braid (Jigs Only) Revo STX / Mojo Bass 7'6 MH/F / Power Pro 50lb Braid (Punching Only)

Show off your Stuff
Everything looks pretty much like this. The 4 setups may be light compared to a lot of you, but I like it this way. It's straight forward, minimal, and saves me money. I never get into a situation where I wished I had another setup. Florida fishing is also pretty standard with baits, technique, and depth.
