  1. LOTS of rain the past few days so water level will be up quite a bit along with the first cold front of the year. Giving it a shot this Saturday. I need some smelly hands and rough thumbs!
  2. Fished Lochloosa today... fished for 20 min, got ticked, and went home. I am giving another spot one more shot and I am packing it all up until I move back to Orlando. I hate the fishing here so much. What a joke!
  3. I lived in Highlands Ranch for 4 months but never fished. I just heard through the grape vine that Chatfield and Aurora are about it other than private water. I hear about good water outside the state tho. New Mexico, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Kansas. GOD I am glad to be home. Colorado was cool but my home is Florida. No job or salary will get me out of Florida. Dont know what you got till it's gone.
  4. Thats a good way to get beat up.
  5. Almost every bass I catch will shake when I grab the lip. Reaction I guess. I wait till they are calm then grab the lip as firm as I can because if he shakes and I dont have a good grip, the fish can throw that hook deep into your hand. Grab em hard and dont let go!
  6. If you like that worm, cut it down so the tail is about 1-2 inches behind the skirt. Beast.
  7. They are a great bait for sure. I always have green pumpkin and junebug loaded in my tackle box.
  8. Oooooh. Thats a good one. Glad it was only as bad as it was. It could have been a whole lot worse.
  9. You can fish with one but it will make your fishing extremely time consuming and not near as effective. I have 4 as my minimum. - weightless plastics - jigs and fliping - top water - crank baits and spinner baits. I put the appropriate line on each one and I am all set. It just makes things a whole heck of a lot easier and much more effective!
  10. I didnt end up getting out anywhere this weekend. Fishing took a back seat to Golf. I think I may try Salt Springs run around mid week and see what the deal is.
  11. Grammar.. Cast everywhere. Fish shallow, fish deep.
  12. My view exactly. No so much on the Web tour but it is big time in Am golf and golf in general. I was surprised how loose the use was on and off the course by my fellow golfers after I became much more serious about my game throughout my 20's. But yeah I dont think there is any "drug" that can help you fish lol.
  13. LOL. Nobody can tell you not to do something in which you have a legal right to in fact, do. That is also if you are in fact fishing on public land as you originally stated. Keep fishing. If you get harassed by the guy again call the authorities.
  14. You will learn to love the sound of braid tightening up on a hard hookset. I love that sound. *CREAK*! *Squeal squeal*.
  15. You should see the Marijuana use on the Amatuer golf and Web.com tour... lol
  16. Very nice! He'll remember that.
  17. Does it cost money to put in a boat? I use an inflatable with trolling motor.
  18. I will def check that out as well. I need all the help I can get up here in N.Florida. Maybe I will do Rodman on Saturday then Salt Run on Sunday
  19. I continue to try water here in the gainesville area and I cant catch a dam thing. I was talking with a fellow golfer about fishing and he said that is the only place to get bass around here. Either way, it has much more activity than anywhere else so to Rodman I go. There are a few videos floating around of some good fish caught just a few months ago. I just dont really have a choice. The fishing is Terrible in Gainesville. After this year of school I will be making my way back to the Orlando area. Much better fishing.
  20. Thanks a bunch. Cant wait.
  21. Going to be fishing this this coming weekend. Advise? Crank baits? Jigs? Worms? Flipping the stumps? Punching grass? Colors? Any feedback would be appreciated.
  22. Rage Craw is my go to. Another thing I have done is cut a brush hog in half and use the tail end as a chunk. I caught an 10.5 lb bass with a brush hog trailer on a jig. I use the big ones as well.
