  1. Yeah, you should probably ask BEFORE you buy something if you're unsure.
  2. backcountry.com is a good site. The lady I work with gets stuff from them all the time, I know because it gets delivered to our office.
  3. This is my basic color strategy too.
  4. Yeah, they just came up last night. Hopefully the RH's will show up soon. You just can't beat that price.
  5. It sounds like the people saying that poly lenses are just as good don't own glass lenses, correct me if I'm wrong. I've always worn polarized Oakleys but really want to try a pair of the glass Costas. It's hard to justify an extra $50-$75 on what is already expensive though.
  6. Nice, i'm planning on ordering one from the same place, as soon as they get the SH in. I feel like I check the site about every 20 min. lol
  7. This is the answer. If they had been fishing really thick mats they would have been using braid. Fluorocarbon was a better choice in the sparse grass.
  8. If customs does decide to grab your order to charge you duties, it will likely hold your package up for 2 or 3 weeks. The tracking will show it in customs, don't freak out if that happens.

  10. They do have a 7' Med power but it's a mod fast, more of a cranking stick.
  11. I would look at one of the MH/R Tatula rods. They are mod fast but have a good bit of power, at least the 7'2" I have does. They can be found for close to $100. It's going to be tough to find a rod that is ideal for all of those techniques.
  12. Yankees spring training, FL I believe.
  13. I have pretty large hands and Daiwa reels have always palmed well for me. I don't find the Tatula to be overly large or uncomfortable, everyone is different though.
  14. I saw Mark Fisher, (Rapala lead designer) on Al Linder's show fishing the Shadow Rap. He said they purposely used light wire hooks to stick those fish that just swiped at the bait. He also said the lighter hooks don't negatively effect the action of the bait as much as a heavier hook would. Take that for what it's worth. Check out the new Gamakatsu Aaron Martens treble hooks. They are made of some new wire that is thin and light but really strong. They're supposed to be great for jerkbaits.

Yamamoto is coming out with a bait called the California Roll. It's basically a Senko with a Reaper tail.
  16. The Mailman was good to me today.

He was using the Megabass 3 or 4 years ago during the first season of MLF, before the KVD bait was available.
  18. The last one I got hit with was like $27 for a $390 order. So it isn't outrageous but it does kind of suck. The bad part is your order gets held in customs for a week to 3 weeks or so. I think I've just had bad luck, a lot of people don't ever get hit with a duty.
  19. The Walmarts around here always have a lot of fishing stuff on "clearance" but the prices are pretty much retail. I keep waiting for them to drop but they never do.
  20. Keep in mind that you can always cut a few inches off the butt end of a blank without effecting the power too much.
  21. I don't fish tubes a ton but I like the Bite Me Flat Eye Heads when I do.
  22. Then you've gotten lucky. I've been hit with duty fees on 2 different orders that were shipped EMS. I think it's luck of the draw. The fees aren't outrageous but you have to pay the postman when he delivers the items.
  23. The key is matching the rod to the bait you're throwing. You will have a hard time throwing a 1oz jig on a med light spinning rod, just like you would have a hard time throwing a 1/8oz Beetle Spin on a 8' XH flipping stick. Stay within the parameters of your gear and you can use whatever you want.
  24. If you're going with Owner ST36's keep them the same size. Normally the only time you want to upsize on a bait like that is if you use a short shank hook. I agree with the others though, Spro baits come with great hooks. Only change them if they need to be changed.
