What I meant was Cox is fishing FLW and the Elite Series, not the Opens. He qualified for the Elites through the Opens last season. He did say there was an event or 2 with conflict and he would sort that out based on his standings in both circuits. As for the sponsor aspect, it seems like MLF is making it harder on sponsors with the FLW takeover, which could effect BPT guys even more. It will be very interesting to see how it all plays out.

Same, I haven't even built mine yet. The whole thing kind of turned me off to them.

So I guess John Cox is going to follow through with fishing both circuits. It's been several years since anyone has done that.

Lol, nobody said any of those things. I'm pretty sure most everyone agrees that Boyd and the MLF group come off looking pretty slimy over how all of this has been handled but that's business. BASS isn't going anywhere but neither is MLF.

So the BPT winners last season in order were: Jordan Lee Edwin Evers Jacob Powroznik Andy Morgan Dean Rojas Aaron Martens Jacob Wheeler Cliff Pace Championship Tournament (Redcrest) - Edwin Evers Angler of the Year - Edwin Evers You've got past AOY winners, multiple Classic winners and multiple tour level winners. Being a good fisherman is being a good fisherman, no matter the format.

So taking what has historically been the #2 tournament circuit in the country and making it their feeder system isn't "taking off like they thought?" Two guys who didn't have great seasons leaving and being replaced by two other big names isn't a sign of failure for the whole organization. I'm not a fan of their "bury the competition" model and what it does to the sport but let's not pretend like that isn't how big businesses operate. Will it be successful in 10 years? Nobody knows, but their first year was very successful, even if they ruffled a bunch of feathers in the process.

I agree with you 100% in principle but BASS is in need of household names and quite frankly they don't have too many of them right now. They are allowed back in by way of the "legends exemption" which is given to anyone who has won an AOY title or Bassmaster Classic. This is how Rick Clunn and David Fritts (currently) and Paul Elias (in years past) fished the Elites, so precedent has been set for this. The bottom line is BASS probably feels like they need them more than holding a grudge over last year is worth.

He's not switching tours, he fished the BPT last year. Things are getting ugly in the professional fishing world. The FLW takeover isn't sitting well with a lot of people and a lot of sponsors, apparently. Swindle and Palaniuk are going back to BASS, Dudley and Thrift are taking their place on the BPT and several FLW guys are fishing the BASS Opens exclusively. I expect to see more of this negativity from anglers in the coming year and it doesn't really benefit anyone.

CBS is cool with me, I'm not in a cbs league this year but I have been in years past and it's always gone smoothly. That's the hard part for me when I'm in multiple leagues, I end up with too many preferences on certain players, which is great when they're good but screws you when they aren't. Points is good for me too, I assumed that was how it was already set. I kind of like the bonus points being more attainable, high scoring is fun, but it really doesn't matter. I hope ESPN straightens things out next year. I don't know if it's just me but it seems like defensive scoring has been strange this year, along with the waiver stuff. I've noticed my defense losing points when no scoring has happened. I didn't notice any "big play" negatives in the settings but who knows, or maybe I'm high. Probably the latter. I don't think I could handle 9 leagues, hopefully you win a couple and at least break even.

You're saying two different things here, "closing" and "moving". They might be moving the headquarters and/or production facility but I can promise you they aren't closing the company. SK is probably the most profitable bait company in the country and Lew's didn't buy it to shut it down.

It seems like in previous years players went to waivers for the main tue\wed waiver period and then were considered free agents after they cleared waivers and could be added immediately. The only players on waivers after wed were players that were dropped off of a roster on wed, they went to waivers for Thursday.

After wed you should be able to add and drop players on a daily basis, the process is the same as the tue/wed deadline. You still have to bid but you're usually bidding against less people (bid less money) since most people pick up players wed. Just make sure you drop a corresponding player. If it is unsuccessful it probably means someone outbid you. It is the exact same process as the wed waiver but it happens every day. Also, if you bid on a player and don't get him, go to our league main page and it shows all transactions for the day so you can see if someone else got the player and outbid you.

Luke can probably expand on this but I will give it a shot. The main waiver period is Tue night/wed morning. Whomever bids the most on a player wins that player. If there is a tie in the money bid, the person with the lower waiver order gets the player. After tue/wed, you are free to pick up anyone you want and there is a waiver period every night. You can get more than one player at a time and during a given week, as long as you drop corresponding players from your roster. If you bid $6 and win, it costs you $6 regardless of what anyone else bids. I think what Luke is talking about is waivers have been turned off completely on Sundays so that no one can make changes before games start on sunday. This hasn't effected me though so I'm not 100% sure.
