I got the 7'3" H a few weeks ago, awesome rod for 1/2oz and up chatterbaits and spinnerbaits. Great hollow body swimbait rod too.

The Swimon is a really good trailer, I've been using it for a couple of weeks too. Academy seems to carry pretty much the whole line of Big Bite Baits and they are priced really well. I use a bunch of their different shapes and they catch fish. The Yomama, Craw Tube, Cane Thumper, Fighting Frog, Squirrel Tail worm and Suicide Shad are all baits I've used with success.

I think so. I would never use braid for swimbaits because it's prone to cast offs. If the spool stops for any reason your bait goes flying off into the abyss. You could use fluoro but I'm not sure there's much advantage to it. I've been using 25lb Sufix Siege on my swimbait rods but i'm sure copoly would be a good choice too.

A jig is a head, a hook and a skirt. If you aren't looking for a smaller, lighter hook all that's left is the head and the skirt. A jighead is a jighead so trimming the skirt down to whatever size you want it to be is really what makes a compact jig. That and a smaller trailer.

Strange, TW has none in stock until October. Were you required to send the destroyed rods back or did some "escape" destruction?

All you need is a pair of scissors to make any jig compact.

I've got a decent balsa collection. I fish a lot of Zooms and a random hodgepodge of PH Customs, Black Label, Barron Customs, Jaw Jackers, Rapala, Bagley and others. I also like the old Stanford Cedar baits and my current favorite is Catching Concepts which are Redwood.

Most any reel part supply place should have OEM spools for current reels. There's a place I go to in Dallas called Southwestern Parts that services Daiwa and Shimano, they normally stock everything. I've bought spools, parts and handle sets from them. https://www.southwesternparts.com/

What are you going to be skipping? A ML seems light for traditional jig skipping and such. I would think the MH Exage or the Fury would be more suited to the baits I would skip but you will have to experiment and match your baits up accordingly.

A new Daiwa Coastal SV was introduced at ICAST, I'm not sure when it will be released but it should be an upgrade over the current model. It also might make the current model go on clearance.

Yes, a weighted wacky rig has the weight in the middle so it falls mostly horizontally. A Neko rig has the weight in the head of the bait with an unweighted hook so it falls weight down. It still bends where the hook is but the weighted head section falls first.

A weighted wacky falls mostly horizontal while a Neko falls vertically.

I'm looking for the Cowboys to win the NFC East again, assuming they stay healthy and get Zeke into camp. The Giants and Redskins won't be very good but the schedule will be tougher this year. Jason Witten is back and all the main pieces from last year's team are back, plus a few upgrades. Not expecting a SB but should be a contender.

Pumpkin colored baits are orange, green pumpkin is green. Pumpkins are green before they turn orange.

Like @J Francho said, it won't make a bit of difference which one you choose for a short leader. The vast majority of the benefits offered by high end fluoro are lost when you're only using 5'-10' at a time. Buy actual leader material or buy some Seaguar Red Label and save some money.

Don't make it more complicated than it needs to be. I fish mid depth crankbaits anytime I'm fishing cover or structure that falls in that 5'-12' depth. I generally fish all crankbaits with the goal of bouncing it off of whatever cover/structure/bottom is present and it is no different with mid depth cranks.
