  1. Yeah, if anything I would do the opposite. I would have saved a little longer and bought better stuff. I have nice stuff now but I went through a period where I was worried more about adding rods and reels than adding the best quality rods and reels I could afford. It cost me more money in the long run.
  2. Yes, I agree with that.
  3. That looks nothing like a Sammy. I have no idea what it is though.
  4. Man, you would be surprised. I have a little place close to me that has large pads and they're very close together. You literally do have to punch through them with at least an ounce of weight. It's obviously different than punching mats but I still consider it punching.
  5. If they're thick enough you do.
  6. Wow! I didn't see that 100 point victory, that's impressive!! I'm feeling good this week, I think I'm going to win this one. I'm due!
  7. d**n it!! It was looking so good too, he had zero for most of the game. My luck sucks! I lost by what, 2 or 3 last week and now this?!?
  8. In my opinion, glass rods are just more fun to fish with.
  9. Nothing wrong with that, it is what it is.
  10. I've got a few packs of Strike King Iguanas that are pretty large. I don't know if they still make them or not.
  11. I'm partial to GP Sexy Shad, but honestly it's hard to go wrong.
  12. He said like 3 times he wants a rod for frogs and you guys are still suggesting spinning rods? lol
  13. If you want to stick with the heavier applications, the Dobyn's and Curado will be a great choice for frogs and the like. I think you're dead on with your choice. You don't need a spinning set up if you don't fish light line.
  14. There's a huge difference from $70 rods and reels to $200 rods and reels. Once you get above that the differences are less dramatic.
  15. I definitely will. I haven't fished it yet but I'm excited to. I couldn't ever get a Hardgill in SS so I decided to get a 3:16 instead.
  16. Just fish a wake bait or a bait that you can keep close to the surface. Always keep a plug knocker handy.
  17. I use those little dental rubberbands to tie up all my treble hooks on baits. It only takes a second to do and keeps baits from getting tangled.
  18. Got an I Love Hard Bait order in today.
  19. The Castaic Jerky J's definitely come in a 7".
  20. I don't use rattles much with squarebills unless the water is really dirty. If you are fishing them right you don't need rattles to draw attention.
  21. That's how I determine whether to use an EWG or a straight shank also. Topwaters and jerkbaits always get straight shanks.
