i have at the stone wall jackson rd in i think its still caroline if not massaponox/ spotsy. i fished from the bank and only caught two real small guys on minnows and my brother's nephew n law caught a small rock bass. we mostly caught panfish. i do want to travel the poni in the boat cause at mike tackle shop in bowling green where i live the lady says it has some very deep holes. the river itself is deep with a drop off ask my brother he knows. lol slipped right in and never touch the bottom. man he was screaming like a lil scared girl.

i know that bps in hanover off of lewiston rd the guys there in the gun shop are quick to show their guns and let you handle them. we was just strolling by the counters and he quickly ask if we want to see a gun. grant though he was a real nice guy and just fanatic with guns. he never let us leave the counter and never pulled no more than one out. he was very helpful too explaining to us the differences between them. so being, quick to show us the guns he was very responsible at the same time.

gator is pretty good. Same with turtle. i hear turtles are goods but after watching les on survivor man cook the legs and how they look i was like nah no thanks. didnt look good haha, but the snakes did! man it nothing to cleaning em too. just peel away and everything falls out. There is a lot of animals like gators and turtles, and other things you just would'nt think about eating that taste very good if you have a good roux and stew it correctly. I have eaten some things in stews that I probably would'nt have, if I knew it was in the cooking pot. If you ever come to southeast Tx,La,Mississippi,or Bama a lot of times it's better if you ask what's in it after you ate it. Especially home cooked food. as long as it look tasty and is tasty it doesnt bother me.

i have the spro bronzeye frog65 (leopard) the belly is white with the black loepard pattern and an faded orange stripe in center of belly. first time i used one last weekend, actually first time frogging and caught a lil guy. i want to get some more maybe even the popping spro but im not sure if out havent seen it yet. but hey their great. havent tried mad maxx yet.

And yes, they are very good to eat. A lot of people waste a lot of the gator though. Usually eat just the tail. IMO the meat on the lower jaws is the best tasting. There are tons of ways to cook them. From gator on a stick to a good ol sauce piquant(pronounced pi-caww). Ask Catt if he knows anything about a sauce piquant he will varify.turtle sauce piquant is good too. the sauce sounds good sounds cajun. what is it? if is cajun god man i would love it than. my sister ex husband dads made some of the best cajun food i ever had tasted their wedding man i stuff my plate full. i went down there. had some beer i never heard of to shults or something in that range a cheap malt. my mom bout to go down this weekend to lousiana so ima get her to maybe get some gator i want to try it now.

yea the james produce some fun for cats. they are some big ones the state record is 102 lb blue cat. i use to put the boat in at deep bottom bridge. i think thats it off 295. my buddy pulled in 2 50 lbers me on the other hand a blue crab. go figure. fresh cut shad is great bait. they roam all over the james. another buddy goes to james just to net his shadfor the potomac catfishing tournaments. i no there's a theory bout the bass decrease in fishing due to the cats in the james. i dont lip the lil guys. just grab between the fins. now the big guys you do grab like you got em. you ever watch the show where the have tournaments where your only catfishing by hand, reachin in the holes feeling for them. IM STICKING TO THE ROD!! i just fillet em and cut the skin off by knife. beats skinning.

in va we dont have to worry bout the gators but i have been to louisiana and seen them in the wild. i wasnt fishing just visiting. my sister lives in lafeyette. my niece husband says growing up, he gator hunted. they says its delicious.

i bummed cause that would been my pb if was a bass. but for what its worth its worth the fight. i know our state record in va is 16 pounds. ill be happy with half that lol

Also, make sure that you're tieing a good quality knot. yea thats was my problem over the weekend some how i keep pulling out my clinch knot. so my brother tied the i think berkley knot and no more problems luckily though i lost by being tangle than hooked into a fish.

for what is worth nice cat. i myself havent tried deep water yet i just fish early and hope for the best. im still new and trying to learn what i can.. i bout to rig my jon boat with a light so i can start night fishing on lakes that is allowed. but the areas i fish now is only sunrise to sunset.
