  1. Ya that's always on my checklist but thanks. I think I may have found space in one of my storage closets in the new house. I did not want to risk leaving any of my equipment outside in the shed. just wasn't sure if anyone new if it would really matter one way or the other.
  2. I use to store my equipment (rods, reels, line, plastics, etc) in my boiler room. So they were always nice and warm well we recently moved and my stuff got booted to the shed so no more warm and comfy home. My question is do I need to worry about my stuff out in the cold? I live in RI so our winter nights get pretty cold. I've been thinking of ways to wrap and pack them do i need to our am I just being paranoid? I have a decent amount of money tied into my equipment that's why i'm worried. Thanks for the help
  3. Very nice work there!
  4. Spro and snag proof are the two I use and have no complaints about either. As far as a plastic frog try using Stanley ribbits or Rage toads. Also you could try using a beefier hook this may help your frog run true. I use Stanleys double take hooks they have weighted and non-weighted hooks. The non weighted hooks are still pretty heavy.
  5. Great answer.
  6. Very nice job. Those are two solid looking buzzbaits.
  7. I have a 7ft MH casting. It has a Abu Garcia C3 4600 on it and is spooled with 15lb trilene flouro. They are nice rods very light and sensititve. I haven't fished much with it I just got it this year so I cant comment on durability but they have a 20yr warranty.
  8. If this is true it is more than tragic. I couldn't even begin to imagine the feelings an emotions they must be going through. Prayers and thoughts sent to larry an his family.
  9. I don't know what the difference is but I own a micro magic 7ft MH and it's evenly balanced and light. I haven't used it yet but as of now I am very happy with the purchase. I have it paired with an abu garcia C3 and it is very comfortable.
  10. Ya I had some 12lb that did something very similar. It actually felt brittle to me right out of the package. I took it out 10 cast in there goes my lure (the line snapped and I have to be honest I've never broken line mid cast) 5 cast later the line twisted on itself half way between the rod and water. That was the end of my spiderwire mono experiment. I went back to berkley trilene xl mono. The only reason I tried the spiderwire is because I got it at a really good price. I was happy with the berkley.
  11. Definitely looks like a basking shark.
  12. Congrats. Enjoy it they really do grow up FAST. :o
  13. This is the first thing I would look for. If your knob is to loose your line will get stuck and frayed badly and you probably wont notice it till you throw your next cast and the line brakes. I didn't care to much for that spider line mono it actually felt brittle to me. Maybe it was just a bad spool but I doubt it.

Stretching and better shoes will help you could also try some core exercises. If you strenghten your core it should help your back with long days on the water. But I would say to check with your DR because if you have a serious problem he may not want you doing exercises.
  15. I have both but most of the time I throw the chigger craw.
  16. X2, I use 17-20lb mono, it seems to float better and my sammies and spooks seem to walk better with the heavy line. I like the short rod so I can keep the tip down and work the bait without having the tip hit the water or the gunnel of the boat. KVD said the same thing. He used 17lb in the show I watched.

Nice. Kid looks like he's got a good flippin technique. ;D
  18. x2. I like the 7/0 for anything around 11in.
  19. Lucky Craft R.C. 1.5 (Tomato shad)
  20. Very nice as always
  21. 30lb shouldn't really dig. It may be in the way you spooled it on.
  22. What lb test do you guys like to throw around timber and other cover? I normally throw 12-15lb but I was watching a show and Stacey King said he likes 20lb around timber. It seems like overkill but he's a pretty good fisherman. The thing that got me was he was fishing stuff that wasn't any thicker than what I throw at. Just curious what you guys like?
  23. You can do this a lot easier by simply marking 1/2 the spool. I LIKE IT! Can't believe I never thought of it.
  24. I just went to the Nat Geo site it said hundreds were found dead and the lake was lake Griffin.
  25. Maybe I miss heard them and they said it could have killed thousands. I did say it was on one lake though.
