  1. I use a black marker to camo my line. Basically I alternate black, green line, black and so on up the line as far as I determine I want to go. I feel it helps break up the outline possibly making the line a little less noticeable to the fish.
  2. Anyone see this on Nat Geo? It was about gators in one lake I believe in Florida that were turning into "zombies" they weren't acting normal. I caught about half the show but what I saw was very interesting. Scientist were doing all types of test on the water in the lake, the gators themselves (healthy and sick) and couldn't come up with anything for awhile. In the end they said it was due to an explosion in gizzard shad. I guess there was a big algae blume and this in turn gave the gizzard shad a ton of food and there population increased. The gators started feeding primarily on the shad which contain high levels of thiaminase. These high levels of thiaminase were causing the gators neurons to die which made them appear in this zombie like state. In the end they said it killed thousands of gators. There solution was to get rid of all the gizzard shad. Problem solved. From what I saw it was very interesting anyone catch it and can add more maybe I missed something or know were it took place?
  3. Definately a great score. But I would try to make sure there is one reserved for you when they get there new shipment. You never no when they get them in they may sell out again before you get there.
  4. I really like the gizzard shad paints. I have never seen those mud bugs before there very interesting to say the least. I like the crackle pattern you chose it resembles the different segments you would see in a craw. Good work!
  5. Ya I did but like you said the bait is small so I think it's the right hook for the bait. Probably just use to seeing the larger hooks on the larger cranks. There nice looking baits though can't wait to use them.
  6. For 11 million a year I'll pick some cotton then retire on a lake. Unlike a majority of professional athletes I won't blown it on cars, cribs, and other nonsense. Stop whining play ball and be thankful.
  7. Thats sad I remember seeing him on the classic. Gerald was pretty broken up on stage. At least he got to live that great experience before he went. R.I.P. Kevin
  8. I just picked up a 4601C3 for jigs, cranks, and some swimbaits. It came in today and I had a chance to play around with . I definitely think i'll be getting a few more in the future .

As long as you have them in a closed ziplock bag and out of any direct heat they should be fine. You can get the worm binders but, I suggest you just get a tackle bag to keep them all in. There cheap you can get them at TW for like 20-30 bucks and then you can keep them in there original bags. Also if your afraid of them drying or some look dry you can add some scent products to them it will keep them moist and scented. I like to use megastrike.
  10. I have a Falcon box to keep my weights organized. I don't use the weight compartments as there labeled unless I have that particular weight. My suggestion is buy the weights you commonly use and just stick a label on the bottom. You can get a label maker or just use some tape.
  11. I was never one in the past to wear sunscreen. I own a landscaping business and for about 7 years never thought twice about it "I was young". Now I get to go yearly to the skin doc for a check up. And I know wear sunscreen regularly. To this day all is well but I think back about how stupid it was not to wear sunscreen. It's simple and keeps you from getting uncomfortably burnt. Good luck and prayers with you.
  12. I agree. A lot of rods in stores get damaged don't let that sway you. If you liked the feel, weight, balance. I'd say get it.

I had good success with smallies on the rage craw and lobster. Weightless, jig trailer, shakey head, you can't go wrong. Rage tails are great baits.
  14. I always check my hooks on whatever bait I buy. But, I usually get LC, Bomber, Bandit, and Rapala. They seem to have good hooks at least good enough not to change right away but I always keep and eye on the through out the year. I like Owners treble hooks there my replacement when it comes time.
  15. Delaware Valley Tackle just serviced 3 of my reels. Send them to him and he will evaluate them and tell you what they could benefit from. Thats what I did and everything seems as good as new.
  16. I like the Abu C-3,4,5s. Do you still use them? Yeah, I cant seem to put them away for good. I'm using them for swimbaits and salmon fishing. J Franco has a sweet C-4 w/lo gears, bearings, think he uses it for deep cranks or swimbaits. They're addictive I was looking at some of the round reels but everyone says there to bulky. On the other hand I hear there good with durability. I want something slow for cranks, spinnerbaits, jigs and occasional swimbaits. What do you guys think?
  17. I have been looking to get another reel. I am thinking of getting a low gear reel so I've been looking at the winch and the Toro. The Toro I'm looking at is on sale for 179 so its actually cheaper than the winch. My question is to the people who have had these reels what do you mainly use them for and how do you like them? Also, the reel is on sale at TW but only the left handed one can anyone shed some light on why the right isn't? I'm just curious as to why I would be getting the left anyway.
  18. All are very nice my two fav are the albino pumpkin and the lake tahoe.
  19. Premiers usually are around 100 or so. If they have them priced for 140 and there 35% its still a good deal but there original price seems high. As for the carrot sticks I haven't used them so I cannot comment. St croix is a good rod and from what I hear the carrot sticks are pretty good also. I dont think you could go wrong either way.
  20. St croix premier 5'6" M has a pistol grip. Thats about one of the only ones I've seen.
  21. I'm looking at getting one of the Duckett rods also probably the 7mh. I would like to use it for some jigs pitching/flipping into light cover. I've been hearing good things about them but i havent yet pulled the trigger. I keep looking for sales one them and havent found one. Speaking of sales anyone know of any or have any promo codes. Maybe it will help me pull the trigger sooner than later. Look forward to hearing more about these rods.
  22. I have the766c. I have had it for 2yrs and use it to flip and throw frogs. It's a good rod and i have nothing negative to say about it. Also, I would imagine it would do pretty good throwing large swim baits. I haven't tried it but I think it would fair well.
  23. I have a 6'6" premier and I use it a lot mainly for light cranks, jerks and some plastics. I've had it for 3 years and no complaints. They are very good bang for your buck rods and at 35% off I can't see you regretting the purchase. I also own a 7mh Avid and its a great rod.
  24. Yup. had the same feeling.
  25. Dont use it for top water because flouro sinks. Trilene 100% flourocarbon is good stuff. The knots are the same I use and haven't had any problems to speak of.
