  1. In my limited expierience, I have not noticed that big bass are more spookier than smaller bass. Normally if I spook a bass off from the bank ot will return in a few minutes. They normally only go about 10-20ft off the bank. Often I will see the wake of a bass headed away from shore and will cast infront of it and catch it. It also depends on the water clarity. Recently in a muddy pond I was fishing, I could stand about five feat away from the bank and catch spawners. I had to get really close to them to spook them.
  2. Yeah, I was just reading up on senkos and came acrossed it....
  3. Glad you decided to join!
  4. Wow, tough question! I would say a 1/4oz. tandem, white/chartreuse spinnerbait.
  5. So, It is 2007 now, what happened to your expierement RW? Maybe you posted it somewhere else and I missed it. (quite posssible) As far as good replacements for the senko, I like the YUM Dinger. I am currently trying the BPS sticko worm because I like their 4 1/4 inch size.
  6. I realy like the Norman Fatboy in bluegill. Also I liked my bomber Square A's until my hooks rusted. Cajun, what cb is in the top picture?
  7. Id say you could probably catch a few on topwater. I live in Ohio and caught some bass in early April on a popper. Pick a warm day after 1 or two other warm days and fish slow. Good Luck!
  8. Definetley cant forget walleye!!!!
  9. Also, remember to always flip the bail with your hand after you cast. If you flip it with your real it puts a twist in it. Hope this helps.
  10. As golfcoursepondman stated, the fish may be close to the shore. Actuall normally the bass are close to the shore, or relating to shoreline cover. Therefore thou shalt cast parrelel to the shore or quartering to it. I do good with small softplastics texas rigged with a small slip sinker. Also rapala floating minnows work good. Good luck!
  11. Ha Ha ;D I really didn't think that math beyond 6th grade applied to life at all. We are just learning about parabolas at school and it's kinda cool to think that it might actualy matter. Im not good at math, but its cool to know that I can almost use it with fishing. However, all the variables in this situation make it kinda unpracticle. I'd rather just through a deep suspending jerkbait anyway. Thanks for posting that, it was interesting.
  12. I fish them along the bottom with a 1/16oz- 3/16oz weight. If the cover is not too thick, I use a jig head designed for tubes. They work good for spawners.
  13. Thats a pretty clear set of rules! Way to go!
  14. This is a cool idea, but the person that asks the question neads to be sure and post back if the guesses are right or not for it to work. Did that make sense? :-/
  15. Cool story Alpster!!! No, I do not tresspass in ponds to fish. I have had good succses asking for permission.
  16. I fish this one pond where I am pretty sure there is only like 3 or 4 bass in it over 8 inches. However, one of those bass weighs 3.7 pounds. Thats huge for around here. Maybe you have a similar situation. Good luck!
  17. Ive herd turkey hunting is tough, nice job!
  18. You should be able to catch a few bass on a popper or other small topwater. I dont think you nead to get a fly rod. A spinning rod should work for those bass. Try going in the mornings or evenings and throughing a small popper. Try not to let the bass se you, and good luck. Also; WELCOME!!!!!
  19. I got it today!! The rod is a 6ft. 6 inch medium, and is a ton lighter than my old 6 foot medium! I got the reel in 4 days and the rod in 7 days, both in good condition so good job by BPS!
  20. As someone else already stated, if the bass don't recieve much pressure, you can catch them on about anything you want to. Weightless softplastics work great. I prefer fishing topwaters a lot because there so much fun.
  21. You called it! Winning one of these tournaments would have to be extremely tough.
  22. Yeah some of those are HILARIOUS. I like the one where he is trying to put his batterie in the boat and he misses the boat. Some of those you couldn't stage.
  23. That is funny.
  24. T-rig; : I can't recomend spinnerbaits enough. They are perfect pike baits. We had good succses with red ones last year, but I don't think color matters. Just simply cast and retreive around weads. Topwater baits are also a lot of fun. Good luck!
