  1. I have switched from braid to mono too. My catch rate hasn’t gotten worse, hasn’t got any better ether. I don’t miss the noise that it made on a cast, leaders, or the cost. But I’m glad I made the switch.
  2. Congratulations That’s great
  3. I found this lure stuck in a piece of drift wood washed on shore on Lake George Fl. The wings part of it looks like they are made of copper.
  4. I know you’ve ruled out central Fl, I live on Lake George, it’s part of the St. John’s River system. 45 minutes plus I’m at a bigger town for Lowe’s, Home Depot, and bigger stores. Now we travel more than an hour for health care, not saying they aren’t any closer, just not one we like. But the St. John’s River and everything else that’s attached is amazing to me. You’ll run stretches will nothing but nature, then a small town like Welaka. It will have marina for fuel, a restaurant for lunch and dinner. There is a big condo, with slips and lifts if you in to the condo life. That is the good, there is always “ not so good”. Going to town your day is pretty much shot, if you do have to get work done on anything, be prepared to take it to them, them coming to you can be expensive. I don’t worry about getting mugged, but when we go traveling, we make sure it locked down good and tight. But I guess it’s all what you really want out of life..
  5. Nice!, What did ya catch it on?

  9. Hi i got a real good surprise for Christmas..... My wife got me a boat!!! ( yep gonna keep her) She got it from a young man, that got it from his grandfather, tore it apart to redo carpet and never finished it. It’s a project boat, but I like the fact I can put it back together the way I want to, instead of me taking it apart to do it. So far I’ve found out it’s a- 1998 Polar Kraft, Eagle 15 AW. Mod V with a 1998 25 hp Yamaha 4 stroke. I’ve got a call in to the factory, they are looking any thing that will help, but the boat is 22 years old, but no dents or major scratches. He really took the thing apart very well, just over time lost parts and stuff. but I’ve got a few holes cut in panels I can’t figure out want they are. can any one tell me what are to two square hole in front of the splash well are for? They have holes drilled in the corners for maybe a vent, beauty ring or something? This rectangular hole cut to in the rear casting deck....which is also the seat back.could it be vent for air in and the other be vent for air out? Fuel tank goes in there, that is, it will as soon as I get one. is this double rail factory of an “add on”? It really seems very stout. Gauge cluster is missing, he threw them away, was going to get new ones then realized how much the cost. any help or suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks, Griver.

  12. Hi everyone I glad to join everybody again on this forum. Life takes us on many different journeys, mine has taken me on a few twists and turns. I haven't been fishing much, not due to lack of desire, just life's requirements. But I' m back and have been getting a line wet now and then. I've moved from the mountains of North Carolina where I loved to fish for river small mouthes to Florida where I've started chasing after the large mouth. Like I said I haven't fish in a few years. ( I know blasphemy). But things have changed and I've pulled my gear back out. I recognized a few names on here , there is a lot of new ones too. Got a few things to learn about Flordia fishing, besides the heat. Hope to get a lot of advice from everyone on here. Thanks G

  14. I like Zoom ...I can get them most any where and you have to admit they do catch fish...Netbait is my second....Love those paca chunk on a jig head the smallies love them. G
  15. I agree with smashing smallies....try different things, I fish for smallies all the time on the river in NC. I change bait all the time until I start getting bites then change when they quit.....he is right , know the river fish it regularly and know where the fish like to be and go after them.
  16. Pop-r and Zara puppy, both have them have worked great for me
  17. got no complaints...keep an ultra light in my truck to stop and fish those places you stumble on and as spares for friends and family when they come by.
  18. You could all so try a worm weight, a lead peg you slide into the worm. BPS has them.... http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_52877_100010003_100000000_100010000_100-10-3
