  1. Pic, pics, pics… we want pictures.
  2. I have noticed fish will self regulate I like fishing transition, ether warm to cold or vice versa, just got to find them. Never fished a hot springs before, but we have a salt spring here. Which stays warmer in the winter, and they will get close to mouth or move according to what they want.
  3. @Joedodge That’s funny…. I admire your intent though. Thanks for the chuckle
  4. Happy Thanksgiving gobble to you wobble
  5. If I had to thank individually each person that I’ve learned something from, the list would be huge. So I will thank everyone as a collective. Thank you Bass Resource. I’ve become a better angler and enjoy fishing more. Like @Swamp Girl said before, we’ve watch accomplishments and joyous moments in their lives. Sadly we’ve seen their hardships too. Thank you to everyone here. Happy Thanksgiving
  6. When I was young I used to backpack for a few days, fishing along the way for trout. Take just enough food so I wouldn’t starve, cooked what I caught. Today….I have a small aluminum mod-v with 25 hp. When I was building this rig I wanted it simple, if nothing else, for the maintenance side of it. I think I’m fish like a minimalist compared to a lot of other anglers but, I’m not like I was when I was a kid.
  7. Please don’t make me think about all the lures I have, … that I don’t use.
  8. What is Govx? I know a lot of state parks and campgrounds give a veteran discount, national too.
  9. Secret Lures …. The stupid tubes and jig heads
  10. I’m in @Swamp Girl’s position now, I’m replacing what I lose or use up. Soft plastics and terminal tackle, and line and such. I still look at new reels/ rods, but I can’t take all that I have fishing with me now. So my budget is pretty low, my boat with a 25 hp it just sips the gas, it only holds 6 1/2 gallons.

Sorry to hear. Your in my thoughts.
  12. Wow …..I really mean…. WOW!! What a great place! Love the slide show too.
  13. Sounds like Mother Nature was testing ya.
  14. That’s a nice rig @Swamp Girl, it looks really brand new. I fished out of a 12’/36 flat bottom Jon for years. I really like smaller boats, run shallow and get those places other can’t. A small step up from a canoe but a huge difference in fishing. Other than you won’t have to paddle that one. My boat now is a 15/48 mod-v…I can stand and walk around without in a problem.
  15. I confess… it’s me trying to find out what your fishing with and where. But, I think I’ve scared the fish digging up this mud. Honestly, I don’t know.
  16. I have never actually fished Lake Ocklawaha. I fish a lot of the Ocklawaha from below Rodman dam, to the St Johns River. Never really fished the Cross Barge, heard it was hit and miss there, with finding the fish. I don’t have the electronics, just a 15+ yr old hummingbird, I use for a depth finder. I really don’t know how the could remove the dam…
  17. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1YfMWqTBRq/ my friend sent me this too….don’t know the extent…or how true it is
  18. I use both…. A 7ft M-H ugly stick with a Pflueger president 3500. I used it for docks, overhangs or anything that requires skipping, I can’t skip a bait caster at all. When I’m in the open throwing tubes or in the pads I use a 7 fr M/H Bass pro with a Shimmano chonarch 7.5
  19. Has anyone heard of this??? My friend called said it has started, he can’t find it again. They were letting it down for the last time before tear down. The Ocklawaha was going to start running on its own accord. They have been talking about shutting down Rodman dam for years but I never thought it was going to happen. Anybody know what’s going on?
  20. No I’ve e ever heard of it. Is it painful, can you move it but the tip? Most importantly ….. will you still be able to fish?
  21. I don’t have any confidence in fire tiger… zero, zilch…nada.I might have one in old stock, but I gave mine away. When I did have them in square bill, it was the Bass Pro.
  22. Zoom, was about the only one I used. It was about the only one available … or easily available.
  23. Congratulations on your new boat What @A-Jay suggested is good advice. One of my nephews took his family through it, boot dealership had it. I’ve got a tin boat with flat finish, so dawn and water is all mine sees. I do put areo 303 on all vinyl and such. Have fun and stay safe
  24. Oh man i hate seeing a good reliable business close, but I love to hear it supported them and their families until they retired. Hopefully someone buys it and has good fortune with it too.
