  1. Too funny, thanks @Angler Andy
  2. You do know @HawkeyeSmallie that you’ve got two choices here. One….the blue pill …and say it was a carp and try to forget about it. Two….you take the red pill…. IT IS A BASS…. You accept the harsh reality that you’ll never be able to pass that area with out fishing it. You try out every new bait there, even buy baits just for that area. She’ll get a name, that area will become your spot, and cringe when you see somebody else fishing it, hoping they don’t catch her. She’ll become your nemesis…. I should have taken the blue pill.
  3. What a great post, thread, what ever it’s called. A wealth of information is on this. Thanks @jitterbug127 for asking the question. Thanks to everyone who has offered advice, shared their knowledge and experience. Best advise yet.

Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida
  5. I have been slowly going to tungsten weights , I see the writing on the walls so to speak. Lead isn’t the only thing they are going to be banning. Keep your eyes on the horizon.

  7. Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida.
  8. “SLOW DOWN” Texas rig some worms or creatures, work along the shore line, hunt for cover or shade lines. Use curly tail or straight, green pumpkin, watermelon, junebug, and some variation of red. Tequila sunrise, plum, red Shad. Enjoy the day…
  9. I totally believe this too, I don’t worry about a bass swimming around with a hooks in their lip. They will get it out. That’s what I don’t like
  10. Thanks I put in my cart.
  11. @Swamp Girlgot the glasses, but I would like to get a small set of bolt cutters. I have a set of Kleins, I think bolt cutters would be better.
  12. I fish hard baits exclusively for one whole season, because I wanted to learn how to fish them. I still don’t have it down pat yet, but my confidence is a lot higher now. I should have watched the hook removal video first.
  13. Yikes these stories always freaks me out. My dad had dark spot on his far left part of his eye. It came from a spilt shot, trying to break off and it zinged go-ed right back at him.
  14. How did ya get rid of them? What kind of soil do you have? Here in Fl it’s all sand, where I live. Are hauling off the dirt from the pond or stock piling it?
  15. I use 303 on my seats and other vinyl stuff. I got no complaints, My humble little tin doesn’t have a shiny finish to use it on the hull.
  16. Congratulations! nice fish!
  17. Mine is a simple one… when I learned how to Texas rig a zoom 4 1/2 finesse worm….. green pumpkin. It was game on from there.
  18. I fish less than 30-50ft most of the time. It really depends on what I fishing with, on how far I cast with accuracy. I might fish too close, but I can make lazy cast and just work down the shore line.
  19. Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida….. Well … you’re right about that this site having a lot of fishing knowledge. I have learned so much here.
  20. I handed my nephew an inflatable as he was getting in my boat, he said “he didn’t need it” . I told him “ Put it on, it’s easier to find your body when it floats verses dragging the bottom for it” My sisters are still upset with me about what I said to him, and that was years ago. But I was at his house not to long ago, he was showing me some new plastics. Laid out on his boat was 3 inflatables.
  21. I’ve seen it here, use be out on my dock and people would come by chit chat. Now 50% don’t even look up from their screen. i was fishing the Ocklawaha one time, I was over to one side working a spot, when 3 youngsters came by. One was looking the bow screen, one was looking at the controls screen, the was on his phone. I honestly don’t think they even knew I was there. The Ocklawaha is a beautiful river with coves and creeks. It’s a shame they missed it.

I love fishing frogs or toads, pulling them across the pads, letting the toad sink in the opening. BPS has the humpin’ toad when rigged weightless has an incredible slow sink rate. The blow ups or the swirl is exciting, but my hookup ratio is shamelessly low. I would say I miss 80% of my strikes, but it’s still fun.
  23. The way I fish, it won’t do me much good. If I’m cruising the shore line and carpeting the cover with soft plastics or shallow running crank baits. If I’m hunting the big ones, I turn off all electronics and lift the trolling motor and push pole in. Even my shallow water anchors are fiberglass tree stakes. So I fish shallow most of the time. That gear is very cool though, would be nice, but bag of chips is the deal sealer.
