  1. Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida. I used to live north of Asheville, in Burnsville Nc. That’s where I cut my teeth small mouth fishing. dead head
  2. I see it’s $25.00….. is that annual fee or one time.
  3. Same here I do switch my fishing techniques according to full sun or over cast days…. On bright sunny days, you’ll get defined shadow lines and places where the fish might be holding. On overcast days, I believe they are moving and a bit more aggressively hunting. So I tend to brooding my target area on where I put my bait. Where on the sunny days they are more of an ambush hunter, laying in the shadows and cover, waiting on me to pull my bait by them… Now I please understand these are just my theories that I have complied during endless hours of slinging bait, and pondering how they think. I don’t keep logbook, or anything, just my memory which is weak at best. Haha
  4. https://tbnation.net/ . https://www.tinboats.net/home/ @Bazoo try these two sites…. When I did my build I got a lot of ideas from these.
  5. I fish barefoot here in Fl in my aluminum boat, no carpet. I put Tuff coat down, it’s a nonskid latex with chewed up recycled tires in it. You have to use a self etching primer that they sell. I put it on May/2021 it stays outside and a float, on the water. It comes in different roughness and a whole lot of colors.
  6. X2 awesome I had to edit this, …..to add content… I wonder if they will adapt this for tournaments.
  7. My percentages are about the same as yours. The only one that might be different is ….. I like to let is sit for a few seconds after it hits the water, and twitch it. A good number of hits happen then. I think “splash down” draws their attention, if they are close, they hit it. If they are near, but not real close. It takes a while to track and decide whether to hit or pass. I think it takes the later ones that hit, longer to get there or longer to make up their minds. That just my thoughts on it….. I try and prove my theories by repeat performances, but as we all know the fish don’t always have consistent behavior. I think that’s what keeps us coming back and trying again. We, like @Swamp Girldid, and tally up our percentages and file it for future use.
  8. Short distance accuracy is very important to me, most of what I fish is close quarters. When I do fish in more open waters, and fish hard baits, I get to really bomb them out there. It weak in comparison to what I’ve seen other people do.
  9. Dou realis has a 1/10th but I haven’t used it. I have 3/16 thru 5/16….. use mostly 1/4, although haven’t caught anything on any of them.
  10. I see you live in NC, I lived there for a while too. What has your temperature been? My uncle had a pond in Wv, the fish just quit biting when the water go to warm, took awhile too cool off too. If you can get your hands on a minnow trap to seem what’s out there. I used to start out putting the trap shallow, after checking it next day, to see what ya got. Then move it deeper, get an idea where the minnows are hanging and what kind you have in there.
  11. I thought and thought about this, and I have come to the conclusion……. Everybody has made valid points on why they are their favorite. Frogs… working in heavy cover, and other topwaters, blow ups and big plus. Pitching creature bait and other plastics. Crank baits and jerk baits…. Getting dialed in, making real long cast reeling back in, waiting to set the hook. Spinner baits, under spins, Texas rigs, and everything we’ve all tied on our line. I love them all. I know it’s shameful…..
  12. Wasn’t much of a crank bait user until the last couple years, love square bills now. Appreciate your articles, thanks
  13. Didn’t people used to take regular Buzzbaits and modified them to make them squeaky. Even heard,(don’t remember where) about a angler that put it on the car mirror or antenna and drove around with it until it started squeaking.
  14. Are they made made? Do they have inlet and a overflow? Hunt around see want else is out there. Don’t give up…. What is you approximate location and what are the temp.
  15. I’m sorry but that does sound good on any day fishing or not …hahaha ya need two eggs over medium, bacon, fried taters, buttered toast with a side of grits/ butter. Now this is multi-tasking for sure. It reminds me of the old joke about eating ice cream after eating real spicy food.
  16. Try the Ocklawaha it’s considerably cooler water. You could try Salt Run, but the weekends are very busy. The bite is tough right now, shrimp are moving in, their bellies are full.

I e got a back pack and two Plano 3600’s and and one other about half size with terminal stuff. Love it..haha
  18. @webertime, never heard of it….. I googled it. They sell it at a variety of stores too, Publix, Winn Dixie, Walmart, and of course Amazon. Me too
  19. I had a 12’ with a 6 hp and trolling motor and I towed it with a Pontiac Aztec. It made a trip from Florida to North Carolina many a time. I miss that boat, an absolute ton of good memories in that boat.
  20. I’m with @scaleface , one rod throws them all. It’s a 7ft M/H too and I use it for other hard baits as well. It has higher speed reel, so it steps in for my buzz bait rig too. I just don’t have the room, and this rod just works for me. So a lot of my rigs have to multi task.
  21. Glad your back safe and sound.
  22. Hi everyone Does anyone have any experience with one of these reels? It’s the Abu Garcia Revo SX SS bait caster reels. It’s their skipping special.
