I lost my only son to renal cancer in Jan 2020. Tommy was a successful  web tech with a bright future.

The love if my life now has a rare blood cancer WM Waldenstrom Macroglobuliumia that will end her life in the future, treat systems as long as possible. We deal with this. About 6 year ago our neighbor lost her husband to pancreatic cancer and adopted a Havanese dog Zizzieimage.png.9cfa37d5b9ec7bf8bee15892447178a4.png and I have been walking her every morning since then. We  are buddies. Iz gets me out of the house and stays with both Kay and I as long as possible everyday.
Iz now has dog leukemia came on very fast and is dying. Cancer is a *****.

I'm sorry for your struggles man, cancer really is merciless. A few years back a guy I work with lost his daughter in her 20s to cancer then a year or two later another guy I work with lost his wife a stepdaughter and a granddaughter in like  12-15 month period. Now 3 weeks ago my wife came home from work and she informed me that a kid she's taken care of at day care for almost 10 years has just been diagnosed with Leukemia.

Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the country, trailing only cardiac disease.

Both my grandfathers died of cancer in their 70's.

I firmly believe that we will find a cure for it in my lifetime.  The NIH is working on some ground breaking clinical studies for it.  I have a co-worker who is currently enrolled in one.

I think I know how you feel Tom.  We are in the 13th month with our daughter’s breast cancer.  It has been a long journey.  Two of her chemo treatments tried to kill her and put her in the hospital.  After a double mastectomy she seems to be getting better.

My sister beat it Jig Man, my fingers are crossed for your daughter

I’m so sorry for the immense heartache you’re carrying. Losing your son, facing your partner’s illness, and now watching your beloved companion Iz decline—it’s more than anyone should have to endure. Yet through it all, your strength, compassion, and devotion shine.

Your wife and Zizzie sound like true friends and sources of comfort, faithfully walking beside you through life’s darkest moments. Please know you’re not alone—our hearts are with you, and we’re sending you all the love, strength, and peace possible during this incredibly difficult time.

Cancer sucks. Hoping your wife's is extremely slow developing.

Thank everyone for sharing your warm thoughts and suppor

I am 82 and thankful for a wonderful life. Cancer is the only thing that  has a negative impact on my life, otherwise it’s all been good.
I love to bass fish since a a pre teen and that is a lot of years.

I get to hold Izzie and she looks at me with those beautiful eyes begging to help her and all we can do is is comfort her. It’s heart breaking but she has given us so much more sharing her life.Thank you❤️

Sorry to hear this Tom. Y'all will be in my prayers every day.

So sorry to hear that Tom.  Sending prayers your way.

Staying in the positive lane is the best option. Enjoy the moments and time that’s left. It’s super easy to get negative and thinking bad thoughts. I know first hand. I have some of those moments and then have to reel myself back in, no pun intended 😂

I have cancer and I am currently going through the most powerful and aggressive CHEMO for my situation. Running a direct injection of liquid CHEMO for 3 straight days of the week. After the 3 days it usually takes me about a week or so to get close to being normal again with all the side effects I get. Super tired, no motivation and always sleeping. Currently on FMLA from work and I will need extended time to continue my radiation with CHEMO pill treatment when CHEMO is finished.

I'm exhausted and emotions can be all over the place. My wife has been a rock.

My thoughts and prayers are with you sir!!

Thank you for sharing your story. It feels amazing to have more thoughts and prayers coming in, especially from people outside your inner circle!  I’m happy to be a part of your BassResource family!!
