New member from O-H!
Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida. Some of my most serene moments in my life have been fishing.

Hey ya’ll
Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida.

I finally did it!
When they are trashing around, the priority changes real fast to getting them unhooked first. Haha Then work on getting yourself unhooked

I finally did it!
@fin where did you get those?

Trolling motor prop
I have the X3 and it doesn’t make any noise when turning the prop.

I finally did it!
Owwww! That makes mine seem so trivial.

Pitching and flipping with muck bottom
Not sure how much muck you have…. Here we have slit and muck. Most of my hits when flipping and pitching are right after it hits the water or on the way down. I get a few from hopping about a foot or a little more at a time. then it reel up and pitch another area.

I finally did it!
Haha the Doc said something similar, told her I was unhooking a fish …she said “looks like the fish got even and hooked you back.” I’ve done it twice before, they were worm hooks, first time with a treble. Being out by yourself, you have to “suck it up” and just do it. that’s the hard part. Family can be cruel sometimes hahaha

I finally did it!
Well I finally did it… I hooked myself and, couldn’t get it out myself. I simply could not get the Barb to roll out and come back thru the skin. I ended up going to the clinic, got X-rays the stupid hook was against the bone is why I couldn’t get it to roll. The treble hook was an issue too, once the doctor got it to turn the other parts of the treble hit my finger and stopped it from rolling again. Ended up cutting up the hook, pushing it through. I know better than to grab a fish like that, it was foul hooked, with a square bill. So most of the hooks were on the outside of the fish, wasn’t even a bass( that really hurt, it was a tilapia), how I hooked it was beyond me. Anyway, I reached down to lip it and she gave one last act of defiance, and tried to get away. She sank that puppy all the way in.

Wonder how much fuel that 450 burns?

Grizzly 1648 or Look Elsewhere?
@AJ Hauser l’ve got a 15/48 mod V Polar Kraft with a 25hp Yamaha. It’s all welded, tough and very stable. Might look at those as well, I couldn’t be happier with mine.

Rods and reels in car
I keep two telescoping rigs, one baitcaster and one spinning setup in my truck all the time. My soft plastics take a beating more than the rod and reels.

Current Favorite Frog ?
Which one did you use? The ultimate or the popper? I really like Live Target hollow body stuff, I have the bluegill and sunfish one.

Boulders?
That’s what I did. Zoom finesse, green pumpkin. Cast past the boulder work it real slow over the rock.

barometric pressure
I’ve never planned on going fishing around BP but I have taken advantage of it when it happens. Here in Fl, showers roll up and you feel the pressure drop and the bite will turn on, and I’ve fish back over the exact same area that before wasn’t getting a bite, and then catching fish. Trick is to try and make sure you don’t push it and have a shower become a storm or squall and you’re caught out there, lighten can be scary. Or at least for me it is.

Boulders?
This is just my 2 cents, probably not worth half, but this is just my speculation on it. I find that certain time of the year (spring time) they would lay close to the boulders during the bright time of the day. I thought heat might be a factor, dark and emitting a little heat. They would not be there in the summer, I would find them deeper in the pools and scattered around. I only saw this when I lived in Nc smallie fishing.

Where do you rank on the Angling Tech Scale (ATS) and why?
Just on the techy scale….not your ability to catch them, heck @ol'cricketywould sink her canoe with her numbers. Although she does have a f-22 raptor Kevlar vessel to stealthily approach them.

Where do you rank on the Angling Tech Scale (ATS) and why?
I think I’m kinda low on the scale….as you see my boat. It’s a 15ft tin, 25hp-4stroke, my shallow water anchors/ push poles are fiberglass tree stakes from Lowe’s. My electronics consist of probably close to 20 yr old hummingbird, used mostly for depth and water temp. No digital scales, I turned my live well into storage. My most modern thing is my trolling motor, with foot steering. I carry about 4 or 5 poles most of the time, and 1 tackle bag. So I don’t know what I’d be on the scale …..please put a number to it. @ol'crickety The less you have to maintain, means the less you have to break or go wrong, I’m kinda proud of being low-tech on my boat. I probably don’t catch as many fish as those that have the better gear, but that’s ok.

Current Favorite Frog ?
I’m with @Dye99 I use Lunkerhunt too, also I like BPS humping toads. When you pause they have a real slow sinking action, that works for me in the spots in between the pads.

Another cheater caught
Man……. What an expensive price to pay, everything before and after that moment will be questioned, all of life’s achievements have lost their merit.

Lost fish: To see ‘em or not?
Very well said…..sometimes I think if we had a chance to relive that moment, would we change anything, it’s what defines that instant in our lives and keeps them tugging.
