New Video - All About Tube Baits!
Thanks for the videos @Glenn , I haven’t been doing very good with tubes here in Florida. I’m mostly fish the pads and cattails with them, or the edges of them. I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong or are they just not a good Florida bait.

What rod/reel caught your PB?
A Mitchell Avocet, 6ft medium (Walmart special, $39.98) with a BPS 7 1/2 ribbon tail, watermelon/ pearl-garlic. Broke my PB twice that day. I had been at a 5lb for a long time, then I caught one over 6lb, 20 minutes later I got one just over 7lb. I didn’t need the boat to home, I felt like I could have walk on water all the way home, man was I pumped.

How did you find your “spots”
I don’t have any electronics to speak of, a 10+ year old hummingbird, I mostly try and read the area around me. Watch the waters surface for a roll or eddy, try and read the banks edge, look exposed roots, an overhang, even shadows cast on the water, anything that could give the bass an advantage to pounce on it’s food ( my bait). To me that’s part of the fun when fishing. Looking where you’re gonna cast next. “Yep right there is where I’d be if I were a bass”

Identify this lure please
Thank you @The Baron and @rboat for identifying the lures, they look to be original. I bought a Plano box and had a bunch of lures…. A few old Rapala’s jointed made of wood, one says “ made in Ireland”…. A few “made in Finland”, never knew they where made in in Ireland too. @fin, yes there diamonds, the eyes too…. Been calling it my “Elvis lure”. @Timpsonyep it is on the wall of my work shop / shed with a little work bench. Mine is of Florida Thanks everyone for your replies

Covering water vs picking apart the area
@TriStateBassin106 I can be the same way sometimes. If I have a gut feeling that something is there, I’ll try different bait, colors, the way I fish the bait. My electronics are a $99.00 hummingbird, that I got over ten years ago, other than using it as a depth finder, doesn’t do me any good. I usually fish pretty shallow anyway. So yes sometimes I will pick apart area until I find out what they want…. Most of the time I find out what they don’t want.

7:5:1 Gear Ratio for all around?
Most of my baitcasters are 7.5’s, and I have a 6.8 which is close to seven. My first baitcaster was a 7.5, that’s what I seem to be accustomed too.

How do you organize your jerkbaits?
Thought my prayers were answered when I saw your post…. Shoot, your in the same boat I am. Tying to figure out how to sort them. If I try to separate by size , type, depth, weight I just have too many boxes. Well I simply don’t have the room.
