  1. The combo set up for my truck, the rod was a 6’6” medium… telescopic. I was really surprised on the action, being telescopic my experience is they are usually like a broom stick. It not my best rod, but not they worst I’ve ever had ether.
  2. Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida. If you want to talk about Bass fishing, your here.
  3. Man you guys are killing me. I’ve dedicated this year to crank bait. I’m not doing good at all. When I do catch one, they have been small. It’s shallow where I’ve been fishing, so I’ve been square billing it. I just need more practice.
  4. @ol'crickety I think you’ve smoked us all in the numbers. My summer is going slow, I said I was going to do more crank bait fishing…… I haven’t been even taking plastics out with me, and I haven’t been doing so good, they ones do catch have small when I do catch them. I think I need more practice and figure out what they want as far as crank baits go.
  5. I see them using spinner baits at the mouth of the Ocklawaha all year long, there will be a dozen plus boats. I break out the binoculars, ( yes I’m spying on them) 95% are slinging spinnerbaits.
  6. I will use split shot on the hook near the eye for wacky rig, I can add a little, or a lot.
  7. I was gonna to suggest BPS, I’ve still have some stick baits absolutely covered in salt.
  8. @MN Fisher well worth it, nice pic
  9. Thanks for the review, did you say three spools? I got a truck rig off Aliexpress it came with a bfs spool.
  10. Congratulations @Ryan N on the new rig, my Dad was a die hard Daiwa fan, they served him well.
  11. GRiver replied to Dahed's topic in Fishing Tackle
I agree with @Mobasser Texas rig, slow. @Dahed how deep is shallow and what kind of bottom? Might try a square bill, with pauses and let it float up, then crank for a little while, then pause again. Try different pauses and cranks at different intervals. It has a rattle and might attract with the water being murky. Let us know how it works out.
  12. Haha me too. Early days of trout fishing, military, even did some stretches of the Appalachian trail. Some of my most memorable meals have MRE’s or Ramen noodles, not the best meal, but most memorable. Again, safe travels.
  13. @ol'crickety I’m jealous…. Looks like beautiful country. You know you have to post pics. Are tent’in it or roughing it, you just sleeping on the ground? I’ve sleep under Jon boats and canoes before. Still get wet but not rained on at least. Stay safe and keep us updated.
  14. Nice fish!!! Congratulations 45’ is deep for here, graveyard pond ??? Is it man made? If so do you how old it is?
  15. @Ski what’s the weight on that?
  16. That’s great!! Glad ya had fun. What kinda bait did ya have her fish with? Sorry for being nosey but what kinda rod and reel is the in the rod holder….. left side of the picture?
  17. I save all my used plastics and find something. A worm tail, used craw, anything that will give it a little extra.
  18. I don’t know what I do…. I know I’m scanning the area to make sure a gators not coming for my catch. I check next time to see if I move my hand from the reel seat.
  19. Both my batteries are Walmart brand, keep them topped off and keep them charged. I haven’t had any problems.
  20. I know it will mess up a pair of sunglasses too
  21. I like a ribbon or curly tailed worm, Texas rigged. The main reason I use it is, it works for me catching fish. Two, it’s weedless, hardly ever snags. There’s a ton of stuff in the water here.
  22. @Justbass11 and yet you want to go back for more….. What is wrong us…..a fishing person, can have the worst day , or night, and can’t wait to fix our stuff and get back out there. Whatcha’ catch?
  23. You two will be in my thoughts and sending good mojo your way.
