  1. I’m going to propose this to them, maybe with as little as possibly debating ( arguing). @GreenPig suggested 4lb or under line, I’ll suggest that to them too, let-’em use a pop bottle for a reel, if they want, just stay under 4lb mono.
  2. Hi everyone, What is your definition of an ultra light combo…let me explain why I need this. A few fishing friends and I got together, and wanted to start a contest, who can catch the biggest or heaviest fish on the lightest gear and tackle. We figured we get a pot together, winner take all kinda thing, it started out with put your best rig, combo, rod and reel in the pot. I said “ I’m out” right away. I don’t have top end gear by far, but I like what I’ve got, a few others said “no way too”. Then it was put some tackle in the pot…. It was all stuff we didn’t want anyway and everyone was saying they did want to do it for half bags of old plastics. So we finally settled on a cash pot. Now we can’t all agree on what defines an ultra light rig. So after much discussion ( arguing) … we called it a night, but days later, we are still debating ( arguing). So my question is, what is your definition of an ultra light rig? Mine is a med-light rod, 6ft or under with a 1000 size or under reel, with 4-6 lb line. This might not get off the ground, we debated… argued …. For over an hour on how to spell ultra light or is it Ultra lite..
  3. Net bait paca craws, Bass pro used to have a tube craw in Okeechobee color worked pretty good….. I’ve got a pack and a half left.
  4. Hello and welcome back, from the Sunshine State of Florida.
  5. Have you seen any fish, you know, minnows along shore, any thing breaking the surface? Might try a small hook and bobber and see what kind of fish are in there, if any. How old is that particular part of the water? Sidewalk looks fairly new, new construction can really mess with the fish. Does the water go on by, or is it dead end cove kinda thing? You could get bring another rod and reel and bottom fish with some stinky bait. Circle hook on a Carolina rig set up and secure the rod, this will let you if know if there is any catfish at least in there. While the catfish bait is soaking you get another rig, and fish a spinner bait doing search patterns.
  6. There is a few that do it around here on Lake George, used to a bombing range. Most of the pilings for targets are still sticking up. They are looking to get the practice rounds from WWII.
  7. When I bought mine, the numbers were painted on, since they never change in Fl. And the state sticker was stuck on the transom, inside far left.
  8. Thanks for the video @A-Jay I’m going make some of them.
  9. Ok…. I’m going throw in my 2 cents. Zoom finesse worm, green pumpkin, Texas rigged/ bullet weight, the least amount of weight you get away with.
  10. But….but …., I fish left handed ….. hahah. Just kidding. Very nice reels, enjoy. What are you matching them with, rod wise.
  11. @Bankc Thanks for sharing the link, great article.
  12. Berkeley Maxscent Hawg creature - black blue flake, they seem to hold on a little longer. Like @The Baron said keeping slack line while on the fall and being ready for a bite.
  13. Wow! 49, only time I see that around here is the walk-in beer cooler at 7-11. It was 80 here this morning. Creatures seem to work best here shallow too, docks are good too. I use a little of weight as possible to have a slow erratic sink, sometimes weightless depending on the bait.

When I had to go to clinic to get a hook removed, she had a pair if mini bolt cutters. They cut through the hook with ease compared to a set of Klines or diagonal cutters. They would cut out on the tip of the cutters unlike a smaller set of cutters, that you have to get back in the jaws of the pliers. The double kinda hinge thing, you get more leverage. I’ve been keeping my eye out for set myself. Mini bolt cutters are probably something you’ll never use until you need them kinda tool.

  18. I’ve got a Polar Kraft, got as a basket case, stripped down to the ribs. I was impressed on how it was built and the welds. Don’t know of you have a dealer near you, might be worth looking into.
  19. Rapalas… they just work, same with Heddon topwaters.
