  1. I am sure glad you like winter for I don't. Ky is to far north for me. I don't even like going to the northern side of the county.
  2. That is the big problem with BP reels. You have to go back to them for service.
  3. Aaron go with the loomis. you have a better warrenty anf you know what you have.
  4. Educate him RW
  5. Nothing beats early morning right before daylight and a good top water bite. You got it jdw174
  6. Just give a few day notice I am in the process of swapping boats. I always enjoy fishing with forum member and showing then Ky & Barkley lake. We need to plan a get together for the spring for a great top water bite. Bud
  7. I just happen to know Jimmy. He has eought going on with personal apperance and his boat bussiness to keep him and 2 more just like him busy for a long time. He know his stuff and is willing to share if you will just listen. He is like several other Bill Dance, Hank Parker to name just a couple who has paid their dues.
  8. I don't store mine. I use them at lease once or twice eack week all winter. You can't catch fish sitting on the couch.
  9. Ronnie Just any time you want to go. I am ready & waiting. Bud
  10. In the early spring I purchase several from Stamina for the grand son. They were not bad but had to tune each and every one. Paint job was very good. Not bad for the price.
  11. Everything Hawgin said is 100% right on. I like my Falcon FTO Tackle system
  12. jdw174 Like my motto says. He** yes I am a tackle junkie. It has been two day since I have made a purchase.
  13. I always use a trailer hook and a twin tail trailer on a spinnerbaits but nothing on a buzz bait.
  14. I use and like the live sammy. Go for it.
  15. I don't have either one. What I have read the citica is a better buy.
  16. You may not need expensive equipment but it sure make it more fun. A $100 rod is so nuch nicer to throw all day than a $20 one that has the feel of a pool stick
  17. Winter is a great time for fishing. split ring pliers are the only way to go when replacing split rings
  18. If you like Grits you can't be all bad
  19. I agree with you 100% RW. As far as the BEST rod, reel & line that is a personal opinion and you know what they say about opining. Good advise
  20. Avid their is nothing better for breakfast than Biscuits, Sausage Gravy and Eggs.
  21. In Ky and Barkley lake they are found on gravel or rock bottoms which we have plenty of. They also like plenty of current with deep water close by. Thjis is the reason I fish for SM close to the dam. I use a Loomis 783 spinning rod with punpkin color tubes and 6 pound test line. If I am using a BC I use a Loomis 844C with 13 # Sunline Defier line throwing a black /blue 3/8 oz jig. All of my fishing is done in a Jon Boat but I have just bought a bass rig so I will be switching to that.
  22. Went fishing with a friend and forum member who had both of his BC spooled with Trilene XL in 14 #. On one occasion he hung a big Catfish and it broke off. The line broke not the knot. On the other occasion he hung a bass about 5 or 6 pound and again the line broke not the knot. This was new line put on the reel the night before. The Hook set was not a Bill Dance hookset and the reel drag was set correct and the line just gave away. I have caught several hundred fish both bass and other spices and never had my line break with Yo-Zuri in 6# or my Sunline Defier in 12#. I have had knots break but not the main line. Their are several members who use Trilene XL and love it. I just wonder what happen to the line??? Other than something being wrong with the line. Anyone care to give a guess ?????
  23. I thread mine 100% of the time. Like GMAN said it is a confidence issue.
  24. Just use Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft and be done with it.
