  1. The majority of experience plastic throwers have a confidence color that we like. As recently as within a month, I have made the simple adjustment from using a 1/4 oz to 1/2 oz. Normally, my rule has been to use the litest weight the wind and conditons will allow. There are times when the fish won't hit it unless its moving faster versus slow on the drop. As I have gotten older, I have learned to make the adjustments with weight alot of the times before switching colors or methods. One day, I'm on good bite T rigged, 1/4 oz bullet, plum 10 inch, the next day same area, nothing until I made the weight change to a heavier weight. Thus the two rods rigged with both set ups. To add something Marty mentioned on Buzz baits, I also like the buzz bait when the water isn't glassed. A little wind disturbes the surface and noise can be good thing also. Don't be afraid to make changes, good fishermen adjust on the fly all the time. Matt
  2. Every fish of that magnatude must have a story with it and 8lb test. Please, continue. Matt
  3. Nice fish, and I like that second picture. Matt
  4. Diva, oops, Avid, We met him at the state line, we assisted him else where, We have Bush, and certainly don't wont them to share any ideas, no telling where this country could have been lead if they shared ideas. Matt
  5. I'll try any lake once in Texas just to say I fished that lake and hopefully can add, I didn't get skunked on said lake also. But when we have been blessed with all the other lakes in Texas, EM is not on the top or close to the top of the list. I'm 45 minutes from Fork, Cedar Creek, Purtis Creek, and I haven't even hit traffic yet. Maybe you can show me Eagle Mount. one day next year. I'm still needing that one for my list to have hit. Matt
  6. Based on the players of the past who didn't start on offense. Who has the stats to get noticed? When Desmond won it, his team was in a battle for the national title, and some of his returns during the year helped break open the games. Got any body in mind?
  7. Jamie foxx going country?????? You shoule have heard the home town buzz this morning.
  8. Great Topic Catt, just in time for some good winter bassin, when the girls are putting some weight on. As usual, you nailed the key points. Matt
  9. Reading on that web site, there are over 2000 variieties. I found one that thrives in the desert of mexico, its a candellia. I have seen this 100 times. Mexican families on the TX/ US border make wax from the plant. Their camps are visible for miles due to the burning and extracting the wax. They live with no electricity, primitive camp sites. about once a month, the males will make the haul over the mountains and pack the wax to market in one of the major Mexican cities. They said it takes about two weeks to make the trip and return by walking and pack mules. What they get from the wax, they will buy supplies and pack them back to camp. Once the candellia plant has been harvested out of an area, they will move camp. Imagine, being 37 year old, and never seen a doctor. I have not been in the Big Bend National park in years, but bet that I would know some of the family members I met in the 70's on the river. They don't know anything but the wax trade to survive. Its truly sad, but amazing how they don't know there is much better out there, most have never seen a town, and are full grown. Pedro was the oldest of that camp, and he told me, his wife of 47 years had never been to a city, she was born on the river. For years, my dad always took them certain things, I always thought my Dad was a softie and had a big heart. And he did, but most of it was, he was ensuring our camp didn't get robbed, and we never did all those years. Russ, How and the heck do you manage what you do. UPS, C.A.S.T, fishing, fishing moderator and all the other little things you start. Clay Dyer, etc.....joining new forums and such. You better be glad you aren't married, with kids, grand kids. I was UPS driver, Holiday season is upon you. Matt
  10. I don't go to those sites. I don't want my hit on that sight allowing them to use it as proof to say this is how many supporters we have. Even though I don't care about P E T A , I still support People Eating Tastey Animals. Gods creatures have a place in my heart, right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy. Pass the biscuits please. I give them no ammunition, I visit no sites, I try not to type P E T A, I don't give them nothing to build on.
  11. No way that the NFL cares about what happens in Vegas. That would be direct link to gambling, and they won't ever comment on the effects of them making the decision that would turn Las Vegas upside down. Probably wouldn't, but who knows? Any one know of college results where NCAA has taken victories away from team and made them forfeit, I'm sure that once bets are paid, they are final. Most NCAA sanctions comes weeks and months after the results have been paid on that game.
  12. History and stats show that going undefeated is not as easy as talking about it. First off in the AFC, we have seen a team making a run at the undefeated season alot over the years. We have said the same things about the Colts as we are about the Pats. Unstoppable, who can beat them? Dungy would rest his players, we've seen that before, so I think even if they had a chance to set or tie the record, Dungy would still rest his key players and heal the injuried. Never got that far. Now with the current Pats. Indy/Pats game did one thing that should scare most teams. It showed the Pats, they can be beat, and that only makes them stronger now. They'll play even harder now. I think they can be beat, and it will take a team with a very physical defense to do so. Normally under the old coach of the Steelers, I think they are the best chance for the old Dolphins to bust the bubbly open. I haven't seen or recall a Pitt came this year, so how physical they are this year, I don't know. OLD REPUTATION. would say the Steelers are one and have been a physical team for years. Without Cowers on the sidelines, I just don't know. I think the Pats have enough motivation to get it done. Odds are against them, but they sure look good.
  13. don't know if this counts, but I have seen one of ShaQ's Shoes, and He does have a Big FOOT.
  14. I'm sure the indians had a use for it in some capacity. Cold sore medicine, headaches, water source, who knows? I wonder were those types of plants originated from.
  15. I found some that look like the base, but doesn't show any growth, the leaves that are on the upper trunk of the plant.
  16. I like a player to have the "IT" factor. If Tim Tebow woold have led the Gators back, he would be in my top 3, but Florida has no dog in the fight for me, they lost too many. Dennis Dixon has the "IT" factor. for me, its too early to vote, I need to see the end results, the bowl game performances. In 2005, don't you think Vince Young earned the Heisman in the final perofrmance in the National Championship series? If USC won, I'd say Bush was deserving, but answer me this. Why was the Heisman trophy winner on the sideline for the final play on Offense for USC? The best player in the nation is not on the field!!!!!! Why??? I think those awards should be decided on after the Bowl games have been played. McFadden was given preseason honors and with that, Ark. was given AP Poll top ranking and McFadden didn't keep them there. Lets see how Chase and Pat and others do. I say there is alot more football to decide this thing, its a shame the whole post season play isn't used.
  17. If you find out, please post the name.
  18. Is this the lady from Mirarmar that caught a bass that had 2 lb diving weight. Or is there another story since I left Cali?
  19. I never liked polywogs, there small and normally end up finning you as you are trying to remove the hook they swallowed. They aren't any good to eat, so those and saltwater hardheads. Actually, theres lots of saltwater species I don't like to hook.
  20. Those depths are reachable, but you gotta do some rigging. Lead core line, carolina rig a bullet weight, or use Mann's salt water cranks that work super when you can cast them with the wind for distance, you can really go deep, but don't take long to wear your butt out...
  21. So scooping dead fish out of the water is a no-no in this tourney, how about foul hooking them? Do they have to be hooked in the mouth to count? California state law says they must be hooked in the mouth to be legal catch at any time of the year..
  22. Few years back, ESPN had footage of the 11 year old on ESPN, they do film these events the past years. ESPN. Imagine not being able to drive for 5 years and owning a Hummer and Triton Tr 21X Truly a family event. Top 5 paid out overall at all 5 tourneys, obviously, the more that fish, the bigger the payout goes. 2nd place overall walks with new truck and boat, 3rd is travel trailer and 4th and 5th are Bad Boy Buggies Total electric 4x4's. Guntersville and Florida are newer, and the Texas Events are all over 20 years old and still going strong. No memberships required, they do boat checks for those in the money to ensure you are currently registered, life jackets, and kill switch works. They do random polygraphs to keep honest people honest. The one in June, on T Bend, is the one Catt showed me a spot or two and paid me 900.00 for finishing 2nd place for the hour with a 5.39. This is broadcast live on the radio all day. There was only about 5 times in the whole tournament that a 5.39 could win 2nd place for the hour and take home 900. I had that fish in the livewell a few hours before I weighed her in. Just so happens, i played some good poker with her and cashed in well. If I weighed her earlier, she was worth maybe 600. You got to know when to weighem and when to holdem. Thanks again Catt,
  23. Thats a very broad question, care to be more specific?
  24. jb, what are you using to get cranks down to 30-40 ft.? Saltwater cranks are the only billed cranks I don't have to modify to get down deep. Other cranks I have to bullet weight caroling rig them with some long leaders to get them down there.
  25. I haven't checked the stats lately on either team. Also haven't seen key injuries for either team. Whos home team?
