Jigs, jigs, jigs, but what size?
What size jigs would you guys use around timber and rock in 1-10ft of water. I have Arky and football style in 3/8 and 1/2 oz. I am missing out on not throwing a lighter jig or are these two sizes suite most applications? I have a couple 1oz jigs for nasty deep stuff but I hardly ever get in to that.

I dont know which reel to get??
Very true, I forgot about swapping gears but I hardly ever ever ever throw a DD22... Okay a SX or STX ;D I love my STX but I have never fished the SX so I dont know if I would like one or not lol. I have heard really good things about the 2010-present SX's

I dont know which reel to get??
Right now I have a Revo STX, Shimano Citica D and E, PQ, Daiwa Zillion. I am thinking about picking up another reel for my birthday but I am having troubles with which one to get. I am stuck between Curado e5, Revo SX, or another STX. I mainly throw soft plastics and jigs but work in cranks/lipless and spinners also. I use my Citica for my cranks/lipless and spinners because of the slower gear ratio, and was just thinking about leaving that as my main crank/spinner reel and just buying another higher gear ratio reel like a SX or STX. What do you guys think, would it really make a big different to switch to a 5.x gear ratio for cranks/lipless/spinner or should I leave my Citica as my cranking reel and buy a SX or STX?

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Clinton?? Are we talking about the same lake in Dewitt county? You got to share your secrets, I can hardly ever muster up any fish in that lake... Clinton always has the lowest weigh in with our tourneys.

Quality reel for a hundred bucks ?
I agree... You get dual braking for a reel that cost less than 100 bucks, you cant beat that.

Choices, choices, choices.
If you are going to be using it for cranks then I would either get the Revo winch or the Shimano curado e5... I haven't used either of them but from the reviews from others the curado is the way to go for a low gear ratio casting reel. I will be looking into getting a curado e5 next month.

Choices, choices, choices.
You cant go wrong with the Revo STX... Its by far my favorite reel.

Palomar Knot?
Try it with braid and see what happens when you get something big on... I use the uni only on braid and have never had a problem. I've caught numerous fish, hauled in logs, straightened hooks... and never had the line pull through. Power pro was the braid I was using. What brand was the line pulling through for you? 65# PP... I dont know, but I have never had a problem after switching to the Palomar knot.

Palomar Knot?
I lost several 20+lbs cats because of the uni knot using braid... After i made the switch to Palomar I never had a problem again...
-
Palomar Knot?
Palomar is probably the best for braid that I know of but do NOT use the uni knot on braid it will pull through... As far as using the Palomar for floro, you should have no problems, just like everyone else have said make sure you wet the line first...

Benelli M4 shotgun.
Got money to blow I guess... There is no need at all for a semi auto especially one that cost that much lol. Was of money IMHO but its your money...
-
Benelli M4 shotgun.
Any shotgun will work for home defense... Get a cheap Mossberg instead of a Benelli, unless you want to brag about how much you spent for a shotgun that you will probably rarely shoot...

How dumb can Humminbird be?
Dude, serieal ports were phased out in the late 90s. : They still make laptops with those ports... I have two at my desk right now... We need these ports for configuring control system and programing. They are still very much in use today.

new gun
For defense I would and do choose a pistol. A shotgun looks good but is way to cumbersome and unwieldy to use for defense. It's perfect for home defense though. Biggest plus, IMO, is that if you miss and your shot enters a wall the person sleeping on the other side of that wall is alot more likely to walk away.A shotgun blast at self-defense range is also MUCH more powerful than a single projectile as well. With multiple projectiles spreading out in a pattern, you are also more likely to hit your target in a stressful situation. Many (if not most) may not be able to control a pistol in that situation. Make sure you are using the right load for home defense, bubba. As for lots of little projectiles flying around, I guess you need to decide what you want to do...stop the threat or tick them off so they leave. Bottom line, people need to decide what they want to do and what is best for their home defense and then research appropriate ammo and become proficient with the firearm, including but not limited to an attack/defense plan, weapon proficiency, stress shooting, tactical movements, and escape planning. What is your recommedation? Buckshot...

your thoughts on the potential nfl lockout.
Very true... If they need more money because they don't know how to save it, its not the owners problem... Kick them to the curb, and let me try to make more money doing something else.

Best rig for Rage Toad
I might try the rage tail with a swimbait hook, that would solve all the problems...

Tube and Drop shot rod
If you move this to the Fishing Rods, Reels, Line, Leaders, and Knots section you might get a little more help... I personally would use a 6'6"-7' medium action rod...
