  1. The new C-4 shallow crank looks really good, not sure when they will be for sale though.
  2. I agree with Cabela, the 1/2oz. is the most versatile model. But don't overlook the 1/4oz. version, it is really good when you are fishing shallow water and you want a really slow fall.
  3. Texas Bass Pro is correct, the original name for the jighead worm or "shakey head" was the Alabama rig. It is a finesse fishing technique but most hook manufacturers make a jighead specifically designed for shaky head fishing, my favorite is the spot remover jighead with a ZOOM trick worm in Okeechobee Craw.
  4. I would go with chartreuse/white or plain chartreuse with a white super fluke trailer.

I prefer fishing a soft-plastic frog like a Stanley Ribbit and buzzing it across the surface. This is because I suck at setting the hook with those big hollow frogs, I have probably missed or lost 80% of the fish that have hit my Spro Bronzeye frog, so I'm gonna stick with the Ribbits for now.
  6. 1. Pointer 100 in Aurora Brown 2. Sammy 100 in Sunfish 3. G-Splash in Ghost Minnow 4. Fat BDS-3 in Caramel Shad
  7. The ZOOM super fluke in pro-blue is one of the best big fish baits I have ever used in clear water. I'm not sure why but I caught more 4+lb. fish in clear water on that bait than anything else, now if they could only make them easier to find.
  8. iI'd throw a frog, like a Stanley ribbit rigged on a 4/0 Gamakatsu superline hook, and crawl it over the weeds and buzz it over open water. Then I would try flipping a heavy jig or texas rigged craw into the weeds. Also try tossing a fluke or a spinnerbait on the outside edges of the weeds.

Wow man that is one sweet lookin bait.
  10. I have never really done to good with baby bass pattern baits. Sure I have caught a few fish on em but like Avid said it just isn't a hot color around here.
  11. '06 was probably my best year to date. I caught more 4+lb. bass this year than I have ever before, but it was also my best year for multispecies too, I caught my new pb smallmouth at 3.5lbs, my new pb crappie at 16", new pb pike at 25", and my new pb striper at 7.5lbs. which I caught yesterday. I think what really made it a great year for me was that I visited a lot of different places that I had never been to before and I put the things I've learned on here to work.
  12. also, don;t overlook the Bandit 300 series. They are very good baits that come with good hooks and in good colors.
  13. My number one technique is pitching a jig to shallow cover, my favorite set-up for this is a 3/8oz. black/blue jig fished on a 7ft. MH Kistler rod with a Shimano Curado and 15lb. Trilene Big Game. I also like cranking shallow cover and tossing suspending jerkbaits.
  14. Nice fish man, do you run a jet in the river?
  15. dang thats a monster RW, was that the same pond you caught the 10lber. on the crankbait in?
  16. Gotta love those river smallies, I need to make the trip to the New one of these days.
  17. My God man them are some monster feesh, especially that bream. But how did you get him to spawn in your hubcap? lol ;D ;D
  18. I'm not buying any Pfleuger stuff anymore. The President spinning reel and the Supreme casting reel both crapped out on me within a year of purchase. If I were you I would go with a Shimano citica, it is a solid, smooth, reliable reel for $40 less than the summit.
  19. Anything Kistler, they are by far the best rod I have ever used. I will never buy another brand.
  20. If I could afford one I would use it for everything. The Split grip design makes the rod lighter and would be beneficial in any situation.
  21. As stated before, if yer catchin fish don't change it.
  22. 17-18" Good Lord man that is a very nice crappie. Around central VA we consider a 12 incher to be a nice crappie and anything 15" or more is considered a trophy.
  23. For the shadrap I like the SR05 and the SR07, for the Original I like the F05, F09, and the F11. And for the husky jerk I like the HJ08 and the HJ12.
  24. 1. Cavitron buzzbait 2. Lucky Craft G-Splash 3. Stanley Ribbit
