  1. HAHAHA...I just can't
  2. You're one of the few I know still using a split shot rig. Can't knock it, it works
  3. I’m sure that once I get back to freshwater fishing this year 80% of the bass won’t be near 20% of my lures
  4. Your eyes are tools as well @A-Jay, why not increase your chances? And if 1 more eye goes, then the force of Luke shall be thrust upon me
  5. Throw in @A-Jay's Ricky Nelson's greatest hits 8 track and you're on
  6. Sheesh Mike...Impressive!
  7. Well this thread certainly progressed
  8. I have a feeling that the Jone’s are gonna try to keep up. My guess you’ll be getting text messages with new gear pics from those same peeps
  9. Wait...did you just give me a Ricky Nelson reference ...
  10. Was that person named Kay? Because If You See Kay, tell her off
  11. Ford F150 Lures Happened many years ago but I was driving by a body of water that looked bassy. I got out and grabbed my rod with a topwater rigged on it from another trip. I wound up looking to make a long cast and caught the side mirror on a passing F150. That F150 casted like crap and ended up spooling me
  12. IDK man, I think you scored with that rod and will find yourself throwing the kitchen sink with it Good luck
  13. You sound skeptical
  14. Stop fooling around @Pat Brown and stick with the OP subject
  15. Mine sits out in the bay all summer 24/7 The Garmin I have in it is going on 5 years
  16. I guess we’re both “snappaheads” I have nothing against Berkley, I like a lot of their products especially in the salt world. But Vanish was a quick 3 fastballs and take a piece of pine
  17. I remember when Vanish line came out and I spooled it up. What a nightmare 4 casts. I think I used it for the weed whacker EDIT spelling correction
  18. Awesome man! Right now I can’t even catch a cold, I’ll be tapping your shoulder for advice at ice out Glad you’re on the board Mike John BTW, looks like it was a beautiful day you got to fish in
  19. We're not looking at any rain or snow and looking at the 10 day is around 32* (avg) for a high and 20* (avg) for a low? That's not terrible, I'll take that in January for New England
  20. Hahaha...it's a creepy feeling, isn't it Glad you made it back safe
  21. @Pat Brown, totally agree. That day I got caught in fog, I had my head down fishing. Looked up with zero disability. It kind gave me a disoriented feeling. Again, I had GPS and current. The current was pushing me towards shore, so I came to a sense of direction. the only thing left is navigating the 3 mile back to the mooring. Which was dicey bc I had no idea who else got caught in the fog. The last thing I needed is an accident. You really need to keep your wits and calmness every time out
  22. I hate to admit this, but I don’t think I’ve ever back reeled Maybe a saltwater thing but I thought the goal was to get the fish in as fast as possible and avoid prolong stress to the fish? Does back reeling have you playing the fish longer? No clue … Take a cab
  23. Well, having goals is what drives us on the daily. You should at least take away that YOU know that DD lives there and is only a cast away. The last thing I think you should do is calibrate you scale, I am almost positive that it's 0,88 lbs off I'm glad you have a friend on here who provides that positivity for you. I personally think it's rare, so that's a really nice support system you have. Either way bud, again, I'm happy for you. John
  24. A 9 lb 12 oz is one heck of a memory even without pics. Cheer up buddy, I’m certainly happy that you caught that fish I spooled some reels yesterday, a 9.12 oz fish would have been thrilling for this iced out angler Wanna trade? Hahaha
