I did a project in St Pete and stayed at a hotel right on the bay just south of Tropicana Field. Talked to a ton of people that fished it. Lot of fish in that bay.

Depends on the jig. Choose your jig to match the conditions. Each style of jig has been designed to excel for particular situations.

Yup, deep clean once a year....and some of those reels are freshwater reels used exclusively for saltwater fishing. To your point @Catt, the saltwater reels get a thorough rinsing with fresh water after every use. Dried with an 18V leaf blower and the worm gear & thumb bar get a drop of oil. Bearings I oil every 3 or 4 trips. Been doing it for years. The deep clean after the season is more than enough. I will make 1 caveat, my work schedule only has me at a weekend angler, so probably not fishing as much as I'd like or as many as our members here. I'm sure more time on the water will have me cleaning more often...I just don't know, I've never experienced it. After 6 months they're outdated anyway ....

My PB came just after ice out Jigs and back in the day an uncle josh pork rind ,,,, anything that move subtle Can't go wrong with a jerkbait as mentioned Lipless crankbait and find grass/weed patches and rip thru EDIT If you can fish more vertical, then drop shot is productive

I still have a few bayou boogies. I remember they dropped like a rock and you had to fish them fast. if you can keep them in the middle of the water column they were great for stop - n - go. They weren’t bad on a lift drop either.

Nice @A-Jay It’s been quite awhile since my last build and to be fair I think it was taking a damaged full grip cork to a split grip after a failed attempt to try and repair the OG. I like the way it came out but I find that I don’t use it as much as I used to. May have to pirate your idea … Nice work !

Totally agree! I almost lost my house up there last January from the highest storm surge on record … I’ll be deleting content from that post now
