  1. I’ll be deleting this post after you read it, I don’t want to cross the line here. It’s starting to feel like a normal winter here and I was up in Maine recently. I was talking to a tradesman and said something along the lines of “big difference this year compared to last” (last year was really mild for Maine standards). He says —DELETED CONTENT— I about died laughing
  2. If it wasn’t for fishing my family members wouldn’t have a default go to gift for me and not just Christmas. Back in the day I can always count on the Mystery Tackle box …
  3. I can totally relate to this post. I used to take my son bass fishing and if he didn’t hook up within a 15-20 min window then it was game over. Fast forward 15 years or so and I got him into ground fishing in Maine. It’s been great having a fishing buddy again. Nice post …
  4. Looks like your thermometer needs to be calibrated @A-Jay. That just ain’t right …
  5. Edited title and some content … My bad
  6. So glad my wife hates wallpaper
  7. Starting recon on ponds and lakes for 2025 season in SE Maine. Any of our Mainer friends or really anyone who has fished SE Maine, for that matter have any spots for fishing? Just looking for the body of water location. I'd appreciate your feedback. My boat is moored in the bay and can either take it out or can Kayak. Appreciate you. Happy Holidays!
  8. I haven't driven by anywhere since Wednesday, wonder if a lot opened up?
  9. I guess it's true, everything comes in 3's...
  10. That's something I really need to do. I last got shingles in '09 and that WAS NOT a pleasant experience. I still have numbness above my chest on the left side. Thanks for the reminder ...

  15. Love connecting with bluefish. Totally worth the fight. Unfortunately they show up sporadically in Southern Maine. I’d have to pull the boat out of the bay and head south for a state or 2.
  16. I find a lot of anglers who pick a jig to fish with but have no idea what that particular jig will do under water and in different underwater environments. This is a great article that explains the head shape, line tie, etc that gives the jig the characteristics of what this does underwater. This article is a great learning tool and provides great advice for December fishing. Free advice here at Bass Resource Thank you @Glenn for publishing this.
  17. Ok, what about a bass?
  18. When my son was young he wanted to fly a kite on the beach. So we went and bought a kite and a roll of string. I spooled all the string onto a 3/8” wood dowel. On a nice breezy day we got the kite up and flew it or hours. Came time to bring the kite in I had him wind the string onto the dowel and said to him; “wait here” Come back and he says; “This is gonna take forever to get the kite”. “No it won’t, watch” I got the cordless drill from my house and put the dowel in the chuck and reeled it in. By the way: put pencils in the drill and you can sharpen a dozen in seconds
  19. Stoughton Where on the north shore?
  20. Southern Maine, Kennebunk area. I have a house there and fortunately I can work from home. Staying up there is not a problem. Where you from?
  21. I’ll be in Maine by April, hoping to find some fresh water around me . Been fishing a ton of salt, but really looking to get on fresh water bass again. It’s been quite a while, that’s for sure! We’ll start a Mainer report
  22. I hope you do, I missed my window of opportunity and I’m kicking myself in the butt everyday! Good luck my friend … keep @wdp, mom and dad are in the same point in their lives as your dad. I can sympathize … Right now it’s my son.

  24. Advantage I think too much I’m persistent I read too much Disadvantage I think too much I’m persistent Fish aren’t reading the same material Not trying to be a wise guy but all are true . I do work and can’t get out often and I do a lot for my parents who are experiencing health issues. Those can’t be a disadvantage tho. That’s just part of life.
