I like that Sunfish one, very nice. The more I think about it, the more I think I'm going have to make a quieter Buzzbait as you mentioned. The Buzzbait bite has really been non-existent up here the last couple of years and that's just not my opinion, but from other anglers I've been talking to as well. It stinks, I really like the Buzzbait bite. Thankfully, the Spook Jr has satisfied my topwater bite itch.

Gotcha Skeeterman. I've been experimenting with grinding the rivet down to about half it's size and then I bend the wire the rivet rests against a little more so that the wings of blade just ticks against it. Makes quite a racket. Good luck with them!

Nice Buzzbaits Skeeterman. All look great. I noticed you crimped the rivet down, does that add to the squeal of the blade or deaden it? I personally don't crimp mine down and never tried one that was crimped.

What's it called? The double by-pass pizza? I've looked at it a couple of times to see if I wanted to replicate that...I keep getting to the bacon part and said: "YES, THAT IS A DEF FOOTBALL SEASON DISH". NICE!

I have read (in the past) that Northern strain bass are more aggressive than Florida strain bass. I don't know how true that is, I went to FLA about 3 years ago and had a great day on the lake.

T-rigged as well as on a jig head. Grubs are a must have in my box!

X2! WTG! The bite can be "weird" at times. Somtime times it can be a hard "I'll take your rod away" bite and sometimes you won't feel a thing, all you would see is your line "tick". You reel down and next thing you know it's "fish on"! Awesome, Man.

Looks great Man! Did you carve those? A couple of years ago I took one out unpainted, just sealed, just to see how it would fish and man, a bass hit that natural wood finish like you wouldn't believe. Try one out! Looks great! Can't wait to see them finished!

Bar Keeper's Friend followed up with a coat of car wax. EDIT: IMHO, the car wax really shines them up and protects the blades a little longer before you have to clean them again.

Bone-HeadJig, So what you're telling me is that you're a fly tier as well? I've made a lot of muddler minnows in my fly fishing days! Sounds like we have something in common! I agree about the body style, the spun deer hair really restricts the rate of fall. Great ideas you have going on there! I'll post the pic I have in another thread of a jig I made in the next couple of days. Let me know what you think. Great jigs, would love to bounce some ideas off you in the future. Keep up the "outside-the-box" thinking!

Bone-HeadJig, those look really nice. The last 4, are the bodies made from deer hair? I tie jigs as well, but not a 100% hair jig. I tend to make a hybrid where I would uses a silicone skirt as you would with a traditional bass jig, but I would either use deer hair for the body trimmed really short like those last 4 or a chenille body with twin rabbit fur tails. Again, those look really nice. Good luck with them!

The waters here do not have a shad population either, so I'd be interested in some opinions as well. What I do notice now that the summer heat has given way to much cooler nights, the surface water, as well as shallow water, have really cooled down and it has drawn the bass in feeding on gills and craws. It's almost like a spring pattern here in MA. I've been catching them around sparse weedlines and remaining lily pads in about 8' of water. The bass have also been on steep banks adjacent to much deeper water. In past years, the bite would really heat up when the waters get stocked with trout, which is mid-late October. Anyone else have any opinions as to a fall pattern with no shad population?
