X2. The stop-n-go retrieve can be a quick stop then go or a few seconds before you start the retrieve back up. The longer the pause the more helicoptering you get. If you stop and the bait hits structure, even better. Don't be afraid to go over tops, or even thru weeds. A single spin will go thru weeds better, IMO. Burning in the dead of summer really helped me out this year. The stop-n-go wasn't working, slow rolling on the bottom wasn't working, so I down-sized my blade from a #4 to a #3 and burned it and would get 2 or 3 bass to hit in a row. Pure reflex. You can also put on a grub trailer and jig it. The blade(s) really slow the R.O.F and can be very effective. Hope this helps and good luck.

He started rocking the boat right after the win against Cincy at his post game conference. He will surely be missed, no doubt about it, but the Pats won Super Bowls with a lot less. As far as Randy Moss not giving a total effort is not true. Just because he didn't rack up a lot of catches so far this season, he was in on the most offensive plays next to Brady. Just having him on the field opens a lot of other options. Now, if the Vikings give Randy another contract, Brett can come out of retirement 4 more times. ;D ;D ;D Good luck, Randy. Moss did not play to his highest potential every play. I can recall a lot of times where after he got hit by a corner he would just stop. He wasn't motivated to play with the Pats and it showed. If you get paid that much, you better try. I'm not saying that he didn't help the team, I am saying that he could have been a bigger help. Moss throughout his career and including his time with the Pats was the deep threat. In that roll he is sprinting down the field for much of the game opening up much of the field for others. I would think that as the game went on he may have gotten tired and would be criticized of "taking plays off". IMHO, he did that when plays were called and designed when he wasn't an option and was able to conserve energy. I am not trying to defend Randy Moss. He had his share of bad games, but so do all athletes in sports and human beings in general.

I've been using blades form Janns for about 5 years now with no complaints. What blades are good: Gold or nickel plated blades are good and retain a nice glossy finish. The brass blades will tarnish and need polishing every so often. I personally like the brass blades even though they can become a maintenance problem.

Agree. I'm not sure how much that Lexan blade weighs in comparison to an aluminum blade, but if it is heavier than a standard delta blade, then the torque generated along the lure's axis will be way too much causing the lure to roll. Generally speaking you don't want the blade weighing more than a 1/3 of the lures head. You could do a few different things: Smaller blade Bringing the blade arm closer to the body arm as Randall mentioned Lighter blade (maybe drill some holes in the blade you got) Adding weight to the head (you can get spools of lead you could wrap around the head and part of the hook - Jannsnetcraft fly tying material) Maybe add a grub trailer? It would increase the head weight. I know there are more solutions, but I hope these suggestions help.

Nice! I had similar idea using the spinnerbait and reshaping it to a buzzbait like you did, only I want to put 2 Colorado blades on the arm with 2 interlocking clevises instead of the delta buzz blade. Kind of like a hybrid musky bait. Good luck and be sure to post on the performance of it.

I keep it pretty simple. Very light with 1, possibly 2 rods. I take something that is versatile like spinnerbaits, jigs, some plastics (c-rig, drop shot, t-rig) and usually they are grubs. I always take my favorites, the spook jr and spit'n image when the conditions say: "hey, it's top water time!". Good thread! I'm usually in the back of the boat or bank fishing and love to hear how the "other half lives".

Fishining Rhino, when I joined you asked me to PM you if I wanted to go and fish one day and I always kepy that in the back of my mind. Now I want to go fishiing with you, you have the same sense of humor I do. Let's try and go out some point before the season ends! That was good.

I don't have a Chicago Style Pizza very often and got a craving last weekend. The nearest Pizzeria Uno's was too far away, so I decided to make one. Sausage, pepper & onion deep dish. Not Lou Malnati's, but it was very tasty.

I was smallie fishing up in NH and had a similar experience happen. I casted my popper out and caught wind which ended up in a nasty backlash. For about what seemed like 10 min of untangling that backlash, my buddy finally says, "Hey that fish just jumped for the 4th time, do you have a fish on your line". Turned out to be a 3.5 lbs smallie trying to throw my popper and I had no idea that was happening.

I mostly use a metal blades myself, but for some reason this time of year the past 2 seasons colored blades have been producing for me. My guess is the res is new and the fish have never seen a lure so a soda can with a hook on it would work. To answer your question; if you have no sunlight then the red spinnerbait, if you have any sunlight then the green and yellow. Good luck and have fun. Let us know how you made out.

I bet that looks good on a jig. We have no shad up here, i bet that would be a killer jig to use.

This sounds like a great opportunity for you. This maybe a dumb question, but, are there any rod manufacturers in your area you could visit to get an idea of the process? Keep posting on the project, it would be interesting to hear how you did.
