  1. About as close to a european language song I listen to and really like is an old 80's remake from and alt band Goldfinger. Just the last verse is in German. This one makes it into the workout playlist ...
  2. Count me in again for next year!
  3. I salt water fished out of a 10’ Zodiac with a Yamaha 9.9 ho for years and loved the stability of it. It was moored in the bay so it was convenient. Not gonna lie here, I don’t think I’d use it as a pond hopper though unless I could tow it.
  4. I’m glad glad you’re posting this reminder. Completely agree. I’ve been logging pretty much everything and have noticed that I’m falling about 20 oz short. I’m home for the next 3 days, it’ll give me a chance to add that 20 oz in while the bathroom is in close proximity. Really appreciate your post and help. It’s very helpful to me. Thanks.
  5. So I owe you an apology. I really didn't think you were serious. When you opened your post with "Ha!..." I actually thought you were joking around. Good luck to you, man!
  6. 10's on both Jethro Tull I guess if we're going back to the 70's, one on my all time favorites:
  7. 130/78. Not much change, but all in all not a bad week. Doc wants me to lose a few pounds as well. Down 3 this week. I'm guessing a good portion of that is fluid. Seriously? That's crazy! With a heart rate that low, I've heard that some people with that condition have irregular heart beats or they may skip a beat, are you in that camp? I hope not. That's a whole different concern for sure.
  8. I'm a sucker for a good pie.
  9. Any advice on growing hair? I could really use it these days.
  10. I was advised to take it the same time every day. The docs office always tells me to come to my physical in a fasted state, so I figured I do it in the morning. Your BP will naturally be higher during the day, so I guess taking your BP it's like taking your weight, first thing in the morning. Ok?
  11. Day 4 of low salt, low saturated diet. I get a lot of info from AHA and they basically say that if you follow a low salt, low saturated fat diet your can lower you BP in 2 weeks. Yesterday: 1,500 cals, 184 g carbs, 15 g fat, 115 g protein (55%, 10%, 35% respectively) & 1,465 mg soduim BP this morning: 130/80!! My systolic high was 145 at the docs office and the same when I started to monitor. My workouts have been more intense as well. Resting heart rate dropped a bit as well. I know there is no correlation between resting heart rate and BP, but I do notice a difference in stamina during my workouts. Not out of the woods yet, but I like where this is going.
  12. Is there a marina near by? You’ll be going through some serious gas at better than 39 mph and that size boat.
  13. 8-10 sets of how many reps? Sounds like volume training. Me? Shook up a little with my numbers. Been more kettlebelling than anything else. Because the doc wants me to drop like 10-15 lbs, the kettlebell gives me the strength and the cardio. It is high volume training but it’s a proven method for me. Been on it prior to to docs visit which is good. Had to make a few adjustments to make sure I include body parts with dumbbell work that don’t get the attention with kettlebells. Between that and some tweaks to nutrition, I’m getting back into a nice schedule. Honestly, it’s really a matter of execution at this point.
  14. Are you still into the Brig-20?
  15. I fish deep and mostly vertical for saltwater fish. I'm hoping this year I can reduce the bow in my line by using a stronger test braid with a diameter of thinner, lighter mono lines.
  16. Kettlebells have been an amazing tool for me. It's a shame it's so under utilized and under estimated. It's been a big part of my fitness journey. Nice post.
  17. Yesterday, I was able to keep sodium down to below 2,300 mg - a little less than a teaspoon. Had about 1,500 cals which included canned tuna, egg whites (hard boiled), apple, banana, oatmeal with blueberry, 2 salads (lunch & dinner), 2 coffees, 2 green teas (yesterday was cold) and I'm missing a few things here. Overall, my systolic was down 8 mm Hg and diastolic was the same. Still stage 1 hypertension, but heading in the right direction.
  18. Hey bwillis! You have open water in NH in February? WOW!
  19. This is good advice that I forgot to mention above as one of the things I was planning on doing. I do pretty well with hydration, but have noticed that my fluid intake has gone down in the winter months. Thanks for the reminder. This is what my doc says as well. I guess there's a correlation between the diastolic number and LDL's?
  20. My systolic number was crazy high at the docs. May have been from shoveling 31" of snow a Sunday followed up with a hard workout the next night...IDK...It's never been crazy 140 high.
  21. Tn, I'm really trying to avoid the meds. Not that they don't work, quite the contrary, my father has been on them for years. I very rarely get prescribed meds, but when I do, I forget, more often than not, to take them. Seriously, I'd be the worst drug addict.
  22. Good for you man!. At this time of day at work, I'd probably be around 125/80. My hats off to you bud. Agree and started a log this morning.
  23. The nurse who set up all the vitals for the doc did it manually. The doc came in a few minutes later thought the nurse made a mistake and he took a manual reading. Really? Please forgive me, I thought you were a smoker? I've never seen those numbers. Not even during my HS playing days. Congrats to you man!
