A Great Surprise !
My company just went to unlimited PTO (personal time off). I read that a lot of companies have been experimenting with it pretty much since the pandemic started and it's really taking hold. A bit of a reverse psychology I guess, companies are actually finding people are taking less full days off but at the same time have shortened their work day and being more productive. When the pandemic started I was working from home and found I was more productive. Instead of having lunch or working out at the same time every day, my time was more flexible and was able to do those things when I wanted to do them. My work day may extend later or could be shorter to fit my schedule. At the end of the day, I wasn't as stressed out. I loved it.

Why the need to change hooks on a hard bait?
Seems like a lost art or practice I should say. I know I read a couple of posts here about sharpening hooks, but I guess replacing treble hooks are cheap enough than sharpening. I get it, but what about fixed hooks? Jigs, spinnerbaits etc, do they just get tossed?

Rod Sock/Sleeve/Glove
Thank you, I went with a neoprene sleeve as you suggested. I'll try it out and if I need more protection I'll look into the PVC route. Thank you. No rod storage. I'll leave a cheap set-up on board at first and will see how it goes. I know most of the boaters around me, so we keep an eye on each other's boats. Great suggestions here, thank you.

Oversized Tubes
Alright, you caught me. I’m engaged in some illegal activity. I’m producing test tube squid and needed to camouflage the eggs as well as needed bigger vessel to hold the amount of eggs the female produces. ? This needs to stay between us.

Post a photo a day!
The kids are a lot smarter than you think, they go out and buy one that already has the fractions on it: All my tape measures lasted pretty long and I never really had to buy another until a few years ago. I sent a guy out to pick up materials and he got me a tape measure with fractions on it! I almost puked.

Strike King Diamond Shad and/or Luhr Jensen Sugar Shad

Rod Sock/Sleeve/Glove
Or whatever you like to call them. I'm thinking of leaving a couple of rods on the boat this year and my boat is moored in saltwater so I'm looking to protect them. What do you like and would you suggest?

Winter 2021/22
I've been using an 18V cordless leaf blower for that kind of a dusting. My family thinks it's crazy but, then again, I used to get kites in with a cordless drill. ?...Got a few "strange" looks from beach goers. ? I'm slowly converting people.

Oversized Tubes
Perfect! Thank you. Never even thought of it, thank you. 10" Tubes!!!! Hokie smokes! There's some possibilities there.

Sources for good tungsten jigs/jig heads, and spinnerbaits.
Not to sound like a 1970's sitcom: 'They'll get all loony on ya there, meathead' Post an unleaded jig question on the Eastern MA Fishing Reports, there's a couple of guys there who have a source for budget friendly unleaded jigs. I Believe @Mr. Aquarium and a couple others have contacts.

Sources for good tungsten jigs/jig heads, and spinnerbaits.
I called when they passed the law. A spinnerbait is considered a lure. I asked why sinkers and jig? It because loons eat pea size stones to help digestion, hence the reason for sinkers and jigs. They don't want them eating lead.

You just need to swap out lead head jigs and lead sinkers. Spinnerbaits can be on a lead head. Mike Siebert makes a bismuth or similar alloy jig head which is a little more wallet friendly.

2,000 Striped Bass Washed Ashore
Yeah that was 2 summers ago. She was 20 yards from shore swimming, imagine her daughter witnessed that? There no way that kid is emotionally right.

2,000 Striped Bass Washed Ashore
Hopefully we'll know soon. I do agree that water temps have been warmer and warmer a lot later in the the year. With the cold late season rain days, I'm sure that cooled the water really quick. Up in Maine we're seeing much warmer water and more and more shark closer to shore than years past.

2,000 Striped Bass Washed Ashore
That would certainly make sense and I do believe you're correct with the oxygen, but why just a school of stripers? As far as temps, there are always holdovers. They did look tasty, ehh?

2,000 Striped Bass Washed Ashore
Why doesn't that surprise me? ? I would love to find out why such large number of fish got killed. They say that the waters are pristine and that nothing like that ever happened.

The official "Who's drinking tonight?" thread
Tomorrow is an optional holiday for us. I was going into work so I could switch out Friday for an eye appointment in the afternoon. Was told not to worry about it so it’s Martini time. My first Italian Gin: Not as “botanical’d” as a London Dry and not tasteless as vodka, it’s really more like an infused vodka if that makes sense. This would be a great summer gin Rickey or gimlet.
