I’m thinking about trying to jig for squid this year, anyone ever fish for them? Besides calamari, squid is really, really good sautéed in a scampi sauce.

I usually bring a lunch to work and if I eat takeout I usually try to support our community eateries. In a pinch though I don’t mind a D’Angelo sandwich. You probably don’t know D’Angelo’s outside of New England.

Whoa! @PhishLI, I'm looking at your last pic and the beach isn't very far away, I'm guessing 10' - 15' of water? I have my boat moored in a bay Southern Maine and have never seen a whale in that shallow. That's crazy! You sure you didn't have to change some inner garments? ?

My wife wanted a Ring doorbell a couple of years ago and I ended up getting the echo and programmed them both to work with each other. She loves it.

Oh man, I remember lacing a twin tail or hula grub on a (name you favorite) jig head and having a great day with the small jaws. Didn't even need a skirt on the jig, although, it wouldn't hurt to have one one. Football jig as @Columbia Craw mentions above in a rocky environment was gangster! ?

I still have a computer with XP on it. The only reason why I keep it is because it has an AutoCad program on it for plan submission for building permits. I don’t use it often but it’s quite a hoot to see how far we’ve come with technology.

My boat came with a yamaha 70. Max I can put on it is a 90 hp, but it wasn't offered as an option at the time of purchase. @Skunkmaster-k provides very good advice about taking a boaters safety class. I made sure my whole family took the boaters safety class which I feel is very important. I also want you to accept my apologies, I don't want you to think I was questioning how fast your boat goes. If my post came off that way, it was completely unintentional. ?

I couldn't even tell you how fast the boat can go. My boat was brand new last season and, as you know, I'm in the ocean. Last year wasn't a great boating season. Lot of chop on the water and strong currents. You could really move with the current, not so much against it. You and I both need to be careful with speed and impaired vision. At least I know I have to. ? Merry Christmas MN.

Some really good advice here to be learned. I don't run open throttle, especially where I have my boat all season, but I do run it in the sweet spot where I get the most economical gas consumption. For my boat, that's around 4,000 - 4,200 rpm. I spent around $100 for gas last season.
